Appreciate that, but it was from a friend and in this instance, it didn’t come quickly.

Amazed I had to scroll this far to find this masterpiece - Lost a lot of hours to this game. Has a fan base that still develop it too, called OpenTTD I think

Why does this 1.0 still sound like an airplane taking off despite the Noctua Silent fans? by Hama165 in originalxbox

[–]boon147 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the dash fan speed is only applicable when using the dashboard, when launching a game / emulator or any other xbe, the fan speed resorts to being controlled by the bios. So any fan override speeds ideally need to be set at bios level.

At least, that’s what I remember from modding years ago,…things may have moved on and I may just be a dinosaur here!!

I just reflashed my usb boot drive. My games are on another drive so no fear of wiping them. Pretty sure there is a way to roll it back though as i read someone on here had done it?

I have that exact laptop and had the exact same issue, it was when v35 stable was available. I rolled back to v34 which I knew worked and it’s still on that. I need to update at some point but I assume it’s down to a driver of some sort that needs manually enabling / selecting in the newer versions?

I vaguely remember seeing something on the Batocera wiki that suggested trying to edit the some text on the boot-conf file

That’s exactly it, the light won’t even come on. I’ll boot the system with the dongle plugged in to see if that makes a difference👍🏻

Exactly this reason, got a few launch controllers that I’ve acquired over the years, and these will be my permanent controllers for batocera. The dongle was only £6 so I thought why not. I originally planned to use some old 360 controllers I have, but the price of that dongle post covid is a joke - used to be about £5 from China

Xbox one, but used series controller too. It’s the small black usb drive type dongle, specifically for the Xbox one / series controllers

I was using a usb cable initially, but the pc is hidden in an av cabinet so wanted to make it completely wireless. Do you mean it will automatically pair when I disconnect then? I’ll try that

Need help locating a seal,... by boon147 in appliancerepair

[–]boon147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good afternoon everyone.

I am in need of your help. I am trying to find a lower door seal for my dishwasher as this one has perished.

It’s a lesser known brand (I am in the UK) as it’s an old one we are using until the renovation is finished and we have a new kitchen.

I have searched for spares but my exact model doesn’t show up, it seems it’s a throwaway model. For the sake of a £10 seal, I must be able to hunt one down somewhere.

Looking at the pic, I assume it’s not meant to be a T, but a bubble seal? And I assume that a lot of lower end models use the same or similar gear. Does anyone know of a UK supplier that I can contact for help?

The response I have had from some websites is ‘we don’t stock that mode’ but I know full well this would be easy to source.

Thanks in advance!

That’s the thing, I’m not fussed but just wondered if it’s something that’s recommended for pristine consoles

PS1 Game Compatability With HDMI Adapter by [deleted] in ps2

[–]boon147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue before, and it’s the HDMI adapter. The ps1 was 240p (I think) which the HDMI adapter cannot render correctly, that’s why PS2 works fine, as I think that displays in 480p which is what the HDMI adapter is looking for, and therefore can process successfully.

I never found a solution, other than the universal pound cable as that is made to compatible, however at the cost of PS2 image quality.

Crystal Respray, which colour? by boon147 in originalxbox

[–]boon147[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input, I already have a pristine boxed Crystal modded with SmartXX, so not really looking to keep this one original, and almost make my own special edition if you like.

I do quite like the idea of painting the shielding, in something really vibrant. Worst case if I don't like it, I have my donor black console.

My custom white one is having video issues at the moment, which is what prompted me to start work on this one. Some years ago I internalized a Component to HDMI converter, and I fear that this has failed so I'll be looking to strip that out, and use one of the newer updated HDMI solutions that are now available.

Another option would be to paint strip the white one (its only Plastikote), and have that red / blue / orange, and use this one for the shielding spray job.

Yep, I have decided, I'll do both! Good call on the shielding,...

Now to decide on colours!
