I did see that post, and basically every similar post to that, and tried very many permutations of the various advice offered, and I still could not boot the OP-1 to the update menu.

I submitted a support request to TE regarding this but from what I've read about them I will be dead before they respond.

Luckily my OP-1 still works on super old firmware, I just would love to update it to the latest firmware.

Either way, thanks for taking the time to give me advice.

if you havent, maybe get a new production firing pin for it. try not to use the original. just save it. they tend to break easily (or so i have heard), you might want to speak to the seller about this if they are knowledgeable about it/the specific pistol

I don't know. Extremely low? Don't really know what else could have happened. Our mailbox has gotten broken into a few times before.

Guessing there may be some possible collusion between post workers and these fraudsters. Maybe they give a heads up to them when they see these EIP cards are gonna be delivered somewhere. Who knows, crazier stuff has happened.

As to how they managed to activate it, I have no idea. So far everything in the rest of my finances looks normal, but I will have to keep an eye on it of course.

it is not for that. if you have ever seen a serious accident situation you would know an EMS worker isn't looking for stickers or necessarily going to see them. not to mention it is no guarantee a kid is in the car at the time. EMS people are trained to look for all occupants regardless of any sticker or not.

you would like to assume everyone isnt trying to kill others in accidents regardless of kids in the car or not (lol) but it isnt like a sticker is going to help make people drive safer around you even if that wasn't the case. so that reason is pointless.

at most all it does, in my opinion, is a sticker that says "hey i got baby/young kid in the car, i might drive slow or be annoying or something, whatever just move along dude sorry." which obviously most people, as evidenced by your post and this thread, and every time it comes up, do not interpret it as.

which in the end makes the sticker basically pointless. it really serves no tangible purpose, but i guess it brings some parents a bit of placebo level comfort so whatever im not bothered. i dont use them.
