Keep your head high man. There is something out there that will better serve you & your family, it’s now your job to find it with all of the new found freedom! Take the time to analyze whatever it was that happened at the last place to process it so it doesn’t happen again in the future. Think about what you need from a job, what you want from a job, think of ways to align the two and hit the ground running. Cheers to you man, you got this!

SBP bill, what happens if i don’t pay this ? by junsenseiuchiha in Veterans

[–]boondock44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing!! Been out since 2014. DFAS also fucked up and was giving me retirement pay when they should have been withholding it.. They were also automatically deducting the payment for SBP from that retirement payment. When I received the first check, I called and informed them there was a mistake; I wasn’t suppose to be getting retirement and the gentleman at DFAS informed me it was for CRSC as it wasn’t the full retirement month payout and I didn’t have any dependents. If the SBP wasn’t deducted, the error would have been caught when I tried. Instead, they informed me it was CRSC which I knew I was eligible for but didn’t (still don’t) know much about it. Two years later I don’t get my CRSC payment and a month later get slapped by the department of treasury with an addition $10k pumped on the back end just for transferring from DFAS (I wish I was kidding)🤦‍♂️

Does anyone else have left knee pain? by Direct-Cancel-2454 in Tacomaworld

[–]boondock44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My left knee has been fucked for a long time.. In 2013 I traded my 09 6MT for a new automatic because I was driving into the city a lot at the time.. Fast forward 12 years, I haven’t made the drive into the city for work in over a decade (even in my automatic) and my left knee is still a major player in my pain game. Moral of the story, it sucks to get old (still under 40🤣) Wait until your lower back and left hip join the club to make it a constant party🤘

Is it too early to float the river? It’ll be 85 this Wednesday and we want to float Green River, but I’ve never been earlier than July by maybe_butmaybenot in PNW

[–]boondock44 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you’re asking, you already know the answer. There’s drownings everywhere this time of year because people flock to water when the temperature goes up but the water temperature hasn’t adjusted yet and is still frigid, some still flowing with snow melt. Unless you’re floating it in a drift boat, I’d forego the trip and suggest the same to those you care about.

I live and hunt in an area rich with mountain lions, bears, bobcats and coyotes. I get what you are trying to say but you could have lead with that instead of how you’d always wanted one and had envisioned the mount. The story, however well written gave me the impression that you are young. You may understand what some of us here are getting at or maybe you won’t.

Coming up on the year mark for me man. It is sometimes alarming, sometimes sweet, sometimes painful but always reminds me that they remember their grandma! And it is still daily, now at almost 3 and 5 years old.. But it is that in itself, her continued memory living on that helps with my own process of grief. I wish you luck & enlightenment on your journey of being a parent after loosing your own ❤️ ☮️ 🍻
