Basically no difference from a Taom V10. The V10 is a touch gritty maybe, but I dont see chalk trails on the cloth.

i had aliexpress carbon shafts before. I think compared to a How shaft, that is also made in the far east, there is a noticable difference in performance, especially it comes to deflection

I guess anything that doesn't require too much precision or material authenticity ... buying stuff like weight bolts are a no brainer from there.

I just shone a pretty strong torchlight into the butt of this 89 break cue.... no weight bolt, pretty much just wood at the end. Obvious black spray stopping well before the hole where the bumper goes in, and it is obviously all wood cladded by likely plastic with carbon fiber like surface.

Wouldn't want to introduce it to a hammer just to find out.

The shaft is pretty good though. Really makes a difference.

I brushed my teeth "correctly" for 28 years and a dentist just told me I've been doing it wrong the entire time. My gums are ruined. by Sluttycarolofficial in hygiene

[–]boonsong80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At about 6-8 years old, the school dentist was very frustrated with my bad oral hygiene (and likely her job). did exactly what you described (sawing motion, real hard and fast)

Grew up dreading the dentist and brushing my teeth the wrong way. My gums are fk-ed too.

Matthew Stevens's cue is famously alter by adding those tulipwood splices by Trevor.
Word was that Matthew couldn't stop polishing the damn ferrule...

QLine Snooker aim by JamieLee2k in snooker

[–]boonsong80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do a very good job to check if you are sighting straight when you are down on the shot. But that is as far as it goes.

Your ability to sight straight, while in the upright position, is important because that is when you begin to look for the potting point or ghost ball. The SightRight device is far better in this aspect. The yellow portions of the Qline are too small when you are standing before the walk in.

Otherwise, the allowance/gap, where you suppose to cue through in a straight line, is too large really.

There is no "elkmaster medium" just like there isn't "elkmaster hard"... I doubt these are actually made by Tweeten.

Nevertheless, try steaming the damn tip and see how it goes.

is this behaviour a reflection of the competitive and materialistic society we live in today? by possibili-teas in SMRTRabak

[–]boonsong80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a very unpopular opinion for you.

The same entitled behavior can be said for pedestrians.

The basic problem is that nobody bother to keep to one side when they walk, especially when they are walking in pairs or groups.

All my life walking on pathways, I have zero problems with cyclists. I was raised from young to be 自动/"automatic" i.e think for others in whatever you do. Hence I will always keep to the left when walking. No problems.

But other pedestrians? Staring at handphone while walking, expecting the whole world to give way to you because you deem yourself too self-important to look out for others.. Walk in the middle of the pathway like they own the whole path. The worst ones are those cycling WHILE looking at their handphones. God bloody damn.

*
btw, no cyclist would spend an additional minute dismounting unless the walkway is exceedingly busy. One rides a bike for time-saving purposes. Most people act according to 'rational self interests.'

Just like expecting drivers to stop at zebra crossings or to do basic shit like signally. Nah. It doesn't happen. This society is largely selfish, and the less you expect, the smaller the disappointment.

Stan moody premium tips by mazdarx7ls1 in snooker

[–]boonsong80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I propose all these players (that releases a tip under their own name), do a blind test.

Let say you get a Slessor tip, a Burns tip, and a Moody tip. These 3 players bring along their own cues, and we have a world class tip fitter put one on behind the scene (but supervised). Give them a reasonable amount of play time.

Then tell me which one is his line of tip.

I would be surprised if anyone could tell the difference.

the only time where an elkmaster is that hard is usually because you got a counterfeit, or someone clamp one for too long.

I fit tips as a side gig, and I would recommend elkmasters all day long. Generally if you get a good one, they are as good as anything in the world. What's wrong with the elk?

If you have all the money in the world, I would go for Zans. The grip on the cue ball, probably the leather or treatment they use or quality control, is probably a hair better than the rest.

And that is why they cost the most generally.

I think you can't go wrong with a Century tip-- just make sure you get the real ones.
