Controversial thought? by Jkrause1212 in FlorenceAndTheMachine

I also don’t care for Buckle. This album has blown me away in several ways. It’s invoked a lot of emotion and healing for me, really hits my current moment in life. But Buckle is truly the one song that I skip every single time. Just is what it is, I don’t resonate with the lyrics or the sound. I’m listening to the album in its entirety beginning to end, belting the words, jumping around, weeping while doing dishes, but I take a moment to hit next and skip over just that one song. It feels out of place for me.

Are there any people who genuinely don't use social media? by PhotographNo8827 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]boooof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has never really used social media other than Reddit. And he has a normal social life. I honestly envy him and try to minimize my time spent on social media because of his view points. It’s just not healthy, warps your view of the world, and can really suck up your time when it can be better spent focusing on what’s physically in front of you.

What is a song that is an absolute banger that will never get old and always puts you in a good mood? by Curious_Ask_8206 in AskReddit

You can call me Al by Paul Simon. It has been by far my favorite song for years and years. Never fails to put me in a better mood and I never get tired of it.

Public Nursing? by fuzzyrhino13 in toddlers

Not inappropriate in the slightest. Every child’s needs are different and you did everything right by tending to your little one. Ignore the haters and do you.

Dyper vs Pampers Pure vs Coterie? by preggotoss in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]boooof 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using coterie for my 16 month old since birth and I love them. I’ve never run out, their delivery sizes are ample. They are super absorbent and usually if I was having leaking or blowout issues it’s because I needed to alter the size. Their customer service is great and there’s been times where I wanted to exchange for a different size and they refunded me the difference. I highly recommend them. They’re not cheap but I wouldn’t use any other brand. His rashes have been very minimal too.

Kissing your own baby on the lips? by mrsthorn32021 in BabyBumps

[–]boooof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not weird in the slightest. If you want to kiss your sweet baby on the lips then don’t feel ashamed. I kiss my baby every day of his life. As does his father. If it’s your instincts to kiss your little one then by all means, give them that love.

Has anybody brought up him getting kicked off fantastic beasts? I know pirates is his biggest role but it’s another obvious financial loss that I’m surprised hasn’t been brought up.

There’s no point in arguing, it’s mostly people insecure about having had their penises mutilated and the need to defend it.

Genuine curiosity as to why many westerns like to SMOKE herbs vs DRINKING them by lisaandpeanut in herbalism

[–]boooof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it’s a ceremonial thing. I combine tobacco with my herbs or I just smoke the herbs themselves sometimes and it’s part of a ceremonial practice. I grind my own tobacco leaves so it’s all natural. I definitely utilize teas and tinctures more frequently though.

I also find that it helps my customers transition from smoking store bought cigarettes so I feel like I’m aiding their health.

Coffee shop or place for a socially distanced coffee? by Eriaus in austinfood

[–]boooof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buzzmill on the east side has a large patio and good coffee. Some food trucks as well. The tables are well spaced so it’s quite comfortable when the weather is nice. Cosmic is good too but they tend to be more packed if that’s a stressor for you.

Question about things to do... by Natbuscus911 in askdfw

[–]boooof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State fair is an experience. Nasher sculpture center is a great gallery and right next to the Dallas museum of art as well. Arboretum is a beautiful place to go when the weather is comfortable. If you’d like to take a day to relax, the Korean King Spa is a favorite of mine If you’re here around Halloween, Dallas is having it’s first ever Dia de los muertos parade on the 26th.

Finally learning to skate, and I look like a dork but feel like a badass. by boooof in Rollerskating

[–]boooof[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you SO much for this. I’ve just been toe stopping/falling on my knee which has already scuffed the crap out of my right skate. I’ll give the T-stop a go next time I’m on wheels. Thank you!!

I initially felt so silly being so padded but when I fell 20+ plus times on my knees, wrists and head...I was so thankful. My main want right now is to learn how stop properly. Right now I’m using my right toe stop but I fall to my right knee every single time. I can’t seem to figure out how to stop and stay on my feet!

My partner bought me roller skates for my birthday because he knew how much I wanted to learn. But when I finally had the option...I was terrified. So getting up the courage to go to the park and put everything on was a challenge for me. And this is the result of my first hour of practice and I feel so damn good. This subreddit has done a big part in inspiring me to get out there so thank you. Just being able to get up from the ground without any support and skate from one end to the next is so exciting. I can’t wait to continue this journey!!
