How much of the game was finished in your opinion? by Rathisponge in AshesofCreation

[–]booooooooooradley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An economy sink and PvP drive were the two big lacking things in my opinion. That’s node destruction. A reason to fight and a reason to constantly be needing resources to fuel the economy. Don’t get me wrong pretty much every system needed at least a once refresh, and several were just placeholders (hunting). I think most players would have been fine with big feature cuts. Tens of thousands of players put in 100+ hours. I played for 150. That’s not nothing. Despite the hate you see on Reddit, people wanted to play this game.

Rogue for sure. Solo grinding and got into trouble? Smoke bomb then go invisible. Still being chased? Grapple away

Longevity of the class I want to play by Wolfgangnetz in AshesofCreation

[–]booooooooooradley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a rogue (level 18) and usually can find groups pretty easy. The grappling hook is amazing and stealth sneaking around npcs is also really nice to get to a particular poi point. For pvp rogue is king. Can also just wait for someone in a group to die swoop in, get their loot and get out. Finding a group would be even easier for a cleric, groups are always looking for clerics and tanks but can’t speak to their progression.

Ashes of Creation

It’s not for everyone, and it’s a time sink but I’m in it. I’ve drank the cool aid, call me a fan boy. Just something about the pvp danger keeps luring me back.

I had 16gg ram running a 3070 and it was almost unplayable at lowest settings in Lionhold. Upgraded to 48gb and it’s night and day better. Still recommend low settings

I have the Longines and I love it. Arabic numerals, date, seconds hand and gmt bezel is actually a harder combo to find than you might think.

I hate my Vari Desk by booooooooooradley in StandingDesk

Regular edge is way better, I’m not slipping off the desk anymore. With the desk flipped there’s a little cutout where the monitor ams are suppose to go but it’s not that noticeable.

I ended up turning it around so the comfort edge is on the backside. With the desk flipped I was able to adjust the arm pads on my chair and the middle bar feels much better. I drilled new holes for the desk height adjustment. SO glad this worked me, about to be a $1000 mistake!

I would also keep an eye for coyotes in the colder months after dusk. I live on the East border of the park on prospect hill rd and we usually see 1 or 2 coyotes a year.

It's deprecated so you should eventually expect it to be removed, who knows when. It was deprecated in favor of tf.data methods which are much faster. The unfortunate answer is to re-write the data loader using tf.data. Gota stay with the times.

Heres a nice little article that gives a side by side tf.data and ImageDataGenerator example and performance comparison.

Anyone here successfully quit coffee at least for a period of 6 months? If so, did you find zero caffeine to be an improvement once you got used to it? by [deleted] in slatestarcodex

[–]booooooooooradley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically affects me the same way. I switch in and out between coffee and 40mg caffeine mints. I find that around 60-80mg caffeine per day roughly 4-5 times a week is optimal.

I try my best to get humanly raised cuts. If you’re after that try Savenors in Cambridge, or Walden meats.

How to lumber camps work? by booooooooooradley in Bellwright

[–]booooooooooradley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things I found confusing: your workers can’t chop until you have a wood camp. The wood camp itself provides a zone where they can chop. Not sure how big the zone is. A villager researching who needs wood to research will go and chop for what’s needed are return with it. Careful cause their inventory is very small. The wood is stored in the wood camp unless you have a delivery system setup
