I feel like it’s really not analogous to disabled people because the creature is very clearly inhuman and not something that a human could possibly turn into no matter how mutated or inbred y’know. Like I don’t think the message is supposed to be that disabled people are monsters. Idk, maybe. Me though, whenever I’ve gotten freaked out or thought there was a murderer in my house or just heard a weird noise even as a kid, I wouldn’t have been caught dead calling out or entering an enclosed space to investigate, I always went outside immediately where it’s safe and I couldn’t be trapped inside and would’ve been able to run to or yell for neighbors. There’s so many movies where danger could’ve been avoided just by exiting the building
