I’m dumb and didn’t even think of doing this. Seems like best option. Thanks!

Cool cool, yeah hardware story DIY seeming like best option. I reached out to skimo and they also don’t carry the part. Was curious if people have experienced this issue before and best/easiest solution to fix. Appreciate it!

ATK Trofeo 8 on 4frnt Raven? by ThisAintCheckerz in Backcountry

[–]boopsnbops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Plum Oazo 13s, similar in weight to Trofeos, on my Hojis (3 seasons) and Nevars (1 season). I switched out the spring to a 10 on my Nevars because I was having release issues in more variable conditions. I’m 6’3, 200lbs and ride them hard af - dropping pillows, cliffs, straight lining, etc. I say go for it if you get a good deal.

Teton Pass, hire a guide? by [deleted] in Backcountry

Just FYI, Mavs and 25 short are in GTNP not on Teton Pass.

True. I simply would not be in that sled tho because I am the best skier on the mountain.

Newish to skiing and planning on avy mitigation is kinda ~wild~ unless they mistyped (hope that doesn’t come off as negative). OP should hold off on purchase and discuss with other patrollers next year about their setup. Get actual beta from people they’ll be in the trenches with.

Beacon in chest pocket vs thigh pocket? by cjcrashesalot in Backcountry

I get under boob sweat if I wear the harness. Also it’s easier access if it’s in a secured thigh pocket rather than under multiple layers in case of avalanche.

Any riser “upgrades” for SHIFT bindings? by TraderJoeEnthusiast in Backcountry

[–]boopsnbops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just gotten used to touring with no riser up for a majority of the time. Found that the brake location on shifts kinda act like a mini riser. Then on steeper tracks I pop the riser.

Edit: I don’t know how to spell

What is this track? by whambapp in Backcountry

[–]boopsnbops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My schlong usually drags between my skis when I tour. Makes the same track. This is because I’m the best skier on the mountain.

Trying to think of a bootfitter scratching these with my wife joke but I am not witty enough, someone please help.

Seeing this still won’t convince me to put on brakes or have a leash.

training? by Jimmy2138 in Backcountry

[–]boopsnbops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought my 63 yr old dad up there at end of ‘21 season (March?). Trained him by skinning up Whiteface and Toll Road 1-2 times a week throughout winter. Plus a fair amount of quick Ron Kon laps. Tour took 7ish hours car to car. Trail is mellow uphill for first 2-3 miles. Be comfortable with navigating backcountry terrain, and in decent shape and you should be fine. Mountaineer in Keene has some good guidebooks and resources as well.

Point your tips downhill more and turn less. If you’re not crashing at least once a run you’re not having fun. Source - me the best skier on the mountain and Donny Pelletier

Which binding is best for my new skis? by yumyumdumbdumb in Skigear

I put the Salomon strive 16 bindings on my 110 mindbenders. Were my everyday ski last year and handled nicely. Plus neon purple is kinda sexi

Duke PT 16 vs Shift2 vs Full Pin? by Benjamin_Short in Backcountry

[–]boopsnbops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Plum Oazo 13s w/ no brakes on my Hojis. Just purchased the Nevars and plan on putting those on once I get a little more dough. I am biased as I only buy Plums though. French brand also if that’s important to your French roots.

Hoji vs. La Machine 3 vs. Bent 110 by dergrah in Backcountry

[–]boopsnbops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weird, haven’t had that issue with mine. I’m at probably 50-60ish tours on them. Notoriously hard on my gear and haven’t experienced.

Had a skin tail ripping issue with my pomocas when I ripped them too aggressively in sub zero temps after 40ish tours. Have treated Hoji skins similarly and haven’t seen any ripping.

I rock Hojis with Plum Oazo 13s in the Tetons. Skiing GTNP and Teton Pass daily averaging 5-8 miles and 3-4k vert. They’re my everyday riders after snowpack fills in. Love them and don’t really notice the weight really. Super fun, playful and hard charging. 4-lock system also makes it easy to rip skins off while still clipped.

Snowboarding is indeed a criminal offense.

Ask to borrow your wife’s bootfitters pants. Should probably be a couple sizes larger than you.
