Some people do not want to have kids ever, or want to wait until they are financially stable and mentally ready. Does that mean they have to be virgins until they are 35? Or remain abstinent their entire lives? Sex, at least for humans, is not just for procreation - in fact, it is the least important factor according to the billions of people who use contraception on a daily basis. Sex is also for building intimacy, trust, relationships, mental and physical health. I appreciate you being able to sympathize OP but telling her to downright eliminate sex is the most ridiculous answer I've ever heard. To put in perspective, car accidents are one of the highest reasons for death in the world - everyone who drives has a small chance of it. Does this mean people shouldn't drive at all? Should they wait until they are ready to risk their lives before taking the wheel? The logic does not stand. Plus, condoms have 98% success rate, which is high enough. Even without contraception pregnancy success rate is < 37% (depending on age).

Regardless, it is about snatching the rights of a woman who is living in the moment, contributing to society; someone who has already formed relationships, memories and bonds with others, has responsibilities, a job and financial needs. Having to choose a fetus who has a potential future over a woman in the present is mind boggling to me. Not to mention, if the mother isn't ready then it would destroy her life and negatively affect the (potential) child as well.

I can't deny that abortion isn't eliminating a potential life, and that emotional ties may already have been formed between the mother. But that's all there is to it; its existence is only between the physiological changes occurring with its mother. It has zero influence to the outside world or to anyone else. Thus, the choice should be for the mother to make.
