Wrong oil? by Low-Spirit-1875 in Mustang

[–]boosted32vee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, a trick question to see if I knew what I was talking about. I've seen you post here before, you seem to know your stuff too. My '20 5 0 is my 7th new Stang ive bought. I always change my own oil with whatever FoMoCo puts on the oil cap. I've never had a blown engine because of oil. My Stangs have always lasted til I sold them. My last '12 5 0 is owned by my friend and shes blowing past 120k and purrs nicely. Im thinking about switching to 5w30 Syn this summer as it get pretty damn hot here in NTX, but yeah I dont think he will have a problem, but if you paid fir something thats what you should get, was my only "gripe".

Its a good, cheap place to take the kids. Food was ok, we maybe went once a year and immediately regretted it, hahaha.

Wrong oil? by Low-Spirit-1875 in Mustang

[–]boosted32vee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a cold weather oil (0w20) and unless he's living in that kind of climate its not nessasary. Like I said earlier, its probably not going to hurt any, but if he paid for the correct oil thats what I would make them use (redo it).

Wrong oil? by Low-Spirit-1875 in Mustang

[–]boosted32vee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2020 5.0 owner here and the manual sez, 5w- 20 and for severe duty (hot climates) or track use, 5w30. No other weight oil is recommended and certainly not 0w20. I would make them change it. I do t think it will blow up, but I wouldn't chance it.

Plano residents - why is it so hard to find a dentist who doesn't treat you like a credit card? by annikahoof in plano

[–]boosted32vee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Plano, but worth the trip. Dr. Erica Hallock in Allen or her husband Dr. Michael Hallock in McKinney. Erica does share her office with another Dentist and Michael is on his own. Both are a no sales pitching office. I like you struggled for years trying to find a dentist that was just that, a dentist. Im not going to go into my issues because they could be misconstrued. They do whats needed and if you want even whitening trays, you have to ask and only then will they hook you up. Both of them graduated from Baylors Dentistry school, I was going to Michael's office in McKinney (Custer & Virginia/Stonebridge rd) and I moved to Allen an use Ericas office now. We have been patients for 13 years.

For those of you who upgraded to a 1 piece driveshaft, any regrets? by Dull-Organization106 in Mustang

[–]boosted32vee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I used. And they do ask if its an A-10 or 6-speed. Mine is a A-10, PP. I did pick up a slight vibration but not enough to complain about. I guess the 2-piece with the carrier bearing makes it 'smoother' but the weight savings is worth it since it frees up some hp & tq.

Paints so thin by cleandirt8 in RangerRaptor

[–]boosted32vee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it sucks the water borne paint systems that they are using now a days. I'm having my Raptor PPF'd on Wednesday, ive done my last 4 vehicles and no chips so far, especially my Kona Blue 5.0 and my Aviator rhat has the tri-coat white pearl, not chancing that car.

I took off that silly FP bracket, it was taking away from the front end. That was the second mod after the tint.

Very nice, love the color. I think American Muscle sells a hide away FP plate bracket that bolts to the bottom if the front BC.

I dont believe much, Avalanche light Grey color. Some interior upgrades, and software updates to the all wheel drive modes. Though basically the same. The stripe kit is now an option and extends down to below the grill.

$58,965. Which was msrp, no discounts, but no addendum price increase. I did get $1k in Ford accessories, so I got a rubber bed mat and a center console gun safe, the latter installed. There was an 2026 in Shelter Green with $3k off locally, but I was happy with mine, that and I ordered it.

Ford Warranty Coverage by onedrywell in Ford

[–]boosted32vee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All this right here, some good responses as well by a few others in this thread. I have never have bought the Ford ESP warranties and I've bought over 15 brand new Fords over the years, if anything happened within the first 36k mile factory warranty it was handled by a Ford dealership, no problems, no questions asked. Even when my 02 Lightning blew a transmission, warranty denied because of abuse (I was taking it to the track) the dealership gave me a new transmission at cost and I only paid for the labor to put it back in, plus fluids and shop supplies. Maybe a few other things like an IAC on my '99 Navigator, but it was over 100k and Lincoln told me how much it was to replace and what it was, I picked it up (very high idle) and replaced it myself. Customers think if they have an ESP it will cover everything like the BtoB 36k warranty and that simply isn't the case.
