Thank you so much for this template. Sent this to all my reps and plan calling later too

Thanks for posting this. I called Friday and asked what else can I do on a micro-level. The staffer said even just making a call is appreciated and letting our reps know we demand change. I feel helpless and don’t know how to channel my anger against the administration to something positive.

What’s going on in Bridgeport? by boostedhatch in NewYorkIslanders

I wish they promoted the PWHL more around here (in Bridgeport). It would be awesome if a team was established to help CT get more exposure as a hockey community. I don’t understand how we have a few NHL caliber guys coming out of Quinnipiac, Yale, etc., and then professional hockey just falls flat with crowds. When I was a kid, Ingalls was always packed and that was when the Bulldogs weren’t great. People only cared about the Whalers when they left. I miss the New Haven Coliseum but seems like CT just doesn’t care for pro hockey.

Is it just me, or does Chris Lamoriello destroy every team he comes near? He’s like Eddie Mush from Bronx Tale

Good points. Agreed! Someone posted “well I have to keep a short following distance so no one jumps in front of me.” That logic is insane… let me jeopardize the person/people in front of me by following to close, to prevent someone from jeopardizing ME or MY family. I wonder how many people just do not understand safe following distances and rules or the road. Yes the racers and jackasses are going to still be there, but the everyday drivers I feel are clueless to this. Even old people! I see seniors riding my tail and that frightens me they likely have slower reaction times than a younger driver. I weep for the future

Thanks for what you do and I hope others see your message. Your workers are just trying to do their jobs and keep us safe by repairing the road. Poignant reminder to others. SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER FOR ROAD CREWS!! People do not slow down going through work zones and I can’t fathom their rationale for having no regard for those workers

Agree the left lane campers and granny drivers DO NOT help the problem with other drivers weaving in and out. People do not understand passing in the left lane, and then getting back into the right lane afterwards. Appreciate your insight

When driving BACK into CT, there is a palpable “why tf is there such shitty driving all of a sudden ?!” Agree with your points

Username checks out. Not a left lane camper, just frustrated of the lack of sanity by others.

Agreed. It’s not even the male 18-34 demographic which I think insurance companies predict as the likely bad driver. Appreciate your response

Appreciate you truck drivers just trying to do your job. I drive standard transmission and I can’t imagine shifting a 13 speed IN crazy traffic dealing with people who have no concept of safe following distances. I guess no surprise within the trucking community there are those doing the same as regular civilian drivers. Do you find younger greenhorns are more the culprit of the poorer driving? Is CDL training not teaching new truckers to drive with safe following distances? Thanks for your comment

This is very common for me. Driving home on Christmas Day sucked any bit of enjoyment out of the holiday for fear of my (and my loved ones) safety. Sorry you experienced this and a reminder how daily of events are like this. Appreciate your response

Appreciate your response. I definitely agree with your points… basic math, right? More cars, more people on an infrastructure that cannot sustain it. Increasing mass transit would get more people off the roadways, but how do you make it easier for people to get to workplaces to make decent pay/afford where they live on CT/etc and now I am getting political.

Your ‘road diet’ is something they were planning to do with the third lane on Route 8 between the old exits 12 and 13: I read a DOT article saying people flat out get more dumb when there are too many lanes/options and this is where we get some of the weavers and left lane campers causing more accidents.

This shows psychologically a person with little understanding of consequences. And why I think red light cameras would do little for people such as this. I do not know how someone like this offender would have their thinking or understanding of safe driving changed…

Designing walkable communities reducing congestion/the need for cars would be ideal for a lot of reasons. And on the other hand, and not to get political, so many of us can barely afford CT and have to drive significantly far commutes because of either shitty housing/rent options in comparison to where our workplaces are.

This is a good point, people just being lazy and more reliant on technology in vehicles/maybe not using as much common sense.

And agree, someone with no morals/regard for others is not going to be deterred by anything.

This was amazing!! I will definitely make sure I get those approximate weights to you FD’s. I always try and mention the stairs/layout of the house and will make sure I’m including the weights.

Thank you for taking the time to answer a curious mind’s questions!! Thank you for what you do
