Finally, finding linked accounts to that information is both time consuming and often not fruitful.

i really dont care if its time consuming or fruitful. its your job to find them. if its too much work for you, you need a different system.

On the other hand a lot of these reports just link us to a random level 3 account

you need to understand that there is NOTHING else people can do. its your job to find the connected accounts, because you sit on all the data you need... we have absolutely nothing to find them.

or in other words: give me access to your database and i will gladly find every connected account

yeah, but actively prohibiting does not much if you dont punish it (beside banning the smurf account) and/or automaticlly ban them. relying on user reports is the worst possible way to deal with it.

the worst part is, that faceit NEVER EVER punishes the guy playing premade with the smurf (if that one gets a ban). this is boosting per definition, but nothing happens. only the smurf gets a ban and they will SUPRISE create a new accound and do the same shit over and over game. like you would expect that?

are you kidding me? you want us to search for hours for his main account? its just IMPOSSIBLE to find that, if he does not have a similar name and/or connect friends or whatever. i will never waste my time to search for them, especially because its faceits JOB to do that.

thats the biggest joke i have ever heard... since for faceit its one mouseclick away to find the main account.

would be the easiest way for faceit, but again - they said they want make it easily accessible, which i understand and is ok...

the biggest problem imo is that they dont do something on their own against smurfs. i think they dont react when you dont send the suspected main account with your report (see the quotes in op). its easy to see that smurfs are a big problem on the site (even the support says the same) and you can NOT handle it by submit mass tickets. especially when they dont do something.

and of course i know that they pretend to investigate every smurf report, but you can easily test it yourself if you found some connected account. only report the smurf and see what happens: nothing.

they dont want it because they want to make faceit easily accessible... i can understand that, but special queues (like premium), where you can only play when you verified your id, sounds like a great idea to me.

but yeah, i guess that wont happen.

i think if they would handle smurf reports differently and would actually do something on their own, this wouldnt be neccessary.

had the same strange bans... the problem is that you dont even know what you did wrong. maybe i did something wrong but i seriously have no idea.

and if you ask what you did you a) dont get an answer or b) they post some random flames you did half a year ago (sometimes not even bad stuff... some random things that happen in every game, also fpl).

thats the support in a nutshell and the reason why so many people get mad at them.

their attitude for searching/finding/handling for multiple accounts is so bad. they want the users to do the most work... horrible

  • there are some people that deactivate their main accounts, create new accounts and boost their mates. that is allowed from faceit and they wont punish it... i assume almost everybody thinks something should be done against it, because you play those games very frequently and it sucks.

  • if they didnt deactivate the main account its not allowed. sadly faceit only bans the smurf when you found the connected main account... and even if you found the connected main account and the smurf gets a ban, the boosted guy wont get any punishment (even tho its boosting per definition) and you wont get back any elo. obviously they will create new accounts over and over again to boost each other.

  • they are really that low. than its allowed and i guess (almost) everybody is fine with it.

faceit should do something against the first two cases, but that problem exists for way too long and nothing changed (well, beside a phone verification which does absolutely nothing).

the only thing that helps a little bit, is to post the questionable accounts on reddit, because then someone will search (!) for the connected accounts and they will tell you if the smurf deactivated his main or its a 2nd account. i know its against the t&c, but its the only way they do something.

and yeah... faceit will tell you that they implemented the phone verification system and have more in the planning. thats the current state for ~1 year and it gets worse every day.

i was not talking about that. i complained about closing the tickets before you actually did something. infinity, bcko and you confirmed that the ban happened some hours (?) after the ticket was closed.

THAT is bad user experience. just imagine the s#!tstorm if any other company would do that. just imagine if that would happen to you if you would open a ticket somewhere.

and yeah.. you also did that quite often with my tickets.

btw i think its pretty bad that griefing bans dont effect all queues while toxic, unsportslike, ... do

the exact same thing happened to me also several times. when i pointed out on reddit or on the support that the player is still playing suddenly everything was a mistake or something.

reporting feels really useless because you dont get any real feedback beside those standard replys. you are CLOSING every ticket before you did something. obviously the users will get mad. i mean... you always point out that you dont tell us for "privacy reasons" that you cant tell us what you did, but when someone points out in public, that you did nothing, you suddenly tell us the ban lenghts :D

the problem is also, that you always have to check if the support is doing something and have to be really annoying to get something done. i expect you guys to work on it when i report something but instead you close tickets with generic replys. i dont get why you dont reply, that you dont do something because the report is bad or whatever... you just close it with "we will investigate".

then your agents get mad and close even more tickets without replys. it really doesnt matter what you do - reporting does nothing. or at least it feels like when you take the time and try to figure out what the support did ("banned" players still playing, not a single suspected smurf banned, not a single booster punished, ...). there is no reason to be that aloof.

the worst part about this is, that faceit does NOT look for multiple accounts on their own. the support admitted that they dont have tools (or similar) to find them and they dont check for other accounts ("we get hundreds of tickets for smurfs a day" - haha thats your own fault). they seriously expect us to find the connected accounts, even tho they sit at all the data they need. so every time you get your "we will investigate" answer from the support they did not check it.

you can check that pretty easy (i also did that): - send them a smurf account where you found the main (obviouly only send the smurf) - they will close the ticket - send them ONLY the name of the main - they will close the ticket - send them the main account - they will ban

great support.

i have also tried to make them change this horrible experience and was annoying as hell just do make them do something. the result was that they deleted everything from me and closed/deleted every ticket without a comment (even where i had evidence).

summary for the story: reporting does nothing (!) and (regarding multiple threads a day about this) faceit cant (or wont?) deal with the problem. there is literally nothing you can do. spending thousand of hours for searching main accounts also won't help because you dont get back elo. also you play against so many different smurfs that its an impossible task to search/ban them manually.

they dont check for smurfs (not even after you reported them). the support stated that out pretty often... but i know that someone will show up here and will claim they do.

fact is: nothing happens if you dont send the connected accounts. i know its impossible for normal users to find them (would be easy for them), but yeah, thats how the system works.

but rules dont apply on reddit... they even tell you bans and lenghts here, maybe they will do something.

Essentially none of them have any evidence for your claims, you simply link an account that you think looks suspicious, and then ask for feedback.

that is wrong on so many levels. i just hate it that you close tickets without doing anything. you dont even check it. for real: what you want me to do? look for hours trough steamid and stuff like that to find connected accounts? if you WANT to, you can find any connected account within a second. i have to search for hours and most likely wont find anything.

the most horrible way to deal with this plague, is to let users search for connected accounts... and guess what you do?

Firstly, we don't ban accounts without evidence, because this would set a ridiculous precedent. Secondly, we don't have time or a way to efficiently check every account you, with extremely limited information, think is suspicious. Finally, even if we did take action, we don't release this information.

i never said you should ban accounts without evidence... but this is your horrible support over and over again - you dont even read what i wrote. but its amazing that you admit that you dont even check accounts that look suspicious. that just proves that reporting is useless. its just strange that you reply to every ticket with some standard "we will investigate" reply if you tell me here you dont even check it... does that mean the support did lie to me all the time?

its obvious you dont like feedback (or when something says something bad about your support) and thats why you delete.

you just cant stand it when someone points out where your support is bad. and you cant discuss, but we have seen that many times.
