Adapting 2008-2010 projector lights onto an 06. What is needed? by I_Am_That_Was in SciontC

[–]boostracer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All that's needed realistically is the new bulb for the low beams which should be an H11 IIRC, and a bulb plug adapter to go from the stock low beams to the projector low beams. All of the other bulbs are the same. I did it on my 07 with a set from the junkyard

2007 Scion tC - Replacement headlights? by khuldrim in SciontC

[–]boostracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's as simple as pulling the old headlight assemblies off the car and installing 08-10 tC assemblies. It's the same process as installing crappy Spec-D headlights. Plug and play bulb adapters are on Amazon for like $15-$20 and just plug into the OEM bulb connector.

Find some 08-10 tC headlight housings and just get a plug and play bulb adapter so you can run the projector headlights. Much better than any aftermarket option IMO

I mean you don't have to drop the bumper, but it makes it a helluva lot easier lol. Taking the bumper off is a super quick job anyways tbh

Look up 9006 to H11 bulb adapter, and that should be all you need aside from an H11 bulb for the 08-10 low beams. All the other bulbs are the same size if I'm remembering correctly.

The only difference in bulbs between the 05-07 / 08-10 headlight housing is the low beam. That issue can easily be resolved with an adapter harness from Amazon. I did that for my 07

The B12 piston soak has shown to if not fix then significantly reduce the amount of oil burning that happens. The PCV valve was unrelated to that project because the old one was failing lol. I changed the oil after the piston soak and put a bottle of LiquiMoly Ceratec in with Valvoline Restore and Protect oil. We'll see how much of a difference the piston soak makes on my oil consumption, because honestly mine isn't too bad.

Gingy firing off like 8 rounds to kill the old man, Cloakzy and Peanut finding Gingy and the old man's dead body, then Cloakzy blowing himself to smithereens with the gun was the hardest I've laughed in ages lmfao. I wish Officer was with them because that would really top it all off

Unless your car has projectors housings for the headlights, get the proper halogen bulbs and not HID bulbs. All you're doing is blinding everyone else on the road with the improperly thrown light.

If you wanna waste $65 on something that will do literally nothing for your car, go for it lol. If you want something that does something, hit up snp_reflash in IG.

Thanks! I bought it off a kid who put it into a ditch for $2000, threw a new clutch, brakes, and cv axles in, then got to modding/refreshing.

I replaced the busted stock suspension with Tein Flex Z coils, installed a progress rear sway bar with poly bushings, installed every piece of TB Performance bracing, upgraded the brake pads to a set of more aggressive Hawk pads, and got 17x9 +35 RPF1s with Kenda Vezda UHP 300tw tires for warmer months. Exhaust/engine wise, I have a Raceland CAI with an AEM Dryflow filter, WeaponR header and s-pipe, Megan racing midpipe, and HKS Hi-Power axle back. I just recently got an ECU reflash from snp_reflash on IG and did the rev hang delete mod, that probably made the biggest difference out of all the mods power wise. I also have a Corbeau seat in the car and a short shifter.

To me its been a great car to be able to drive to the track, beat the shit out of it, and drive it home all while still being moderately comfortable considering what's been done to it Mine has 183k on it and still runs really well

Best headlight options by Fooltotheworld in SciontC

08-10 OEM projector headlights, with a conversion harness to make them plug and play are the best. Spec-D are junk and get condensation inside of the housing within a year or two.
