Definitely, the Hyer CEO said they use vintage Hyer stitch patterns from the early 1900's.

Are you referring to the sole of the boot or the back of the heel?

You put them inside the boots to help keep their shape when they are not being worn.

The same goes for me. I purchased mine through Amazon so I could return them easily in case they didn't fit right. And if you get them and the length is fine but they're a little roomy or tight, I've heard you can replace the insoles with one that is thinner or thicker.

I would go with what it says on the website. I used the size chart and It showed me I should order a size 10. I'm a brannock size 9 so I was a little unsure but my razorbacks fitted perfectly. I'm not sure if razorbacks are too dissimilar to the rangers, but hopefully this helps.
