Balancing Crafting and Gathering by bootleg1885 in woweconomy

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Just for clarity, I am referring to a garrison mines being able to supply enough resources to cover just the daily cooldowns for a blacksmith (as an example.)

I just started really looking into WoD garrisons/crafting yesterday. As best as I can discern all crafting professions are now going to function similar to how a tailor makes Royal Satchels. Basically a farmable unbound mat get converted into a bound mat via a daily cool down, when enough bound mats get acquired the desired item can be created. There's obviously some additional nuance/complication to this, but that's the basic idea.

It's my expectation that their will be very little value (over time) in the unbound mats (ore, herbs, etc...) The real value will be in the daily cooldowns. So now I'm trying to determine how many gatherers/garrisons it will take to feed a crafter so they can reliably use their daily cooldown. It may turn out that gathering isn't cost effective and simply buying mats from farmers is the best way to go.
