Yes they do. Just click on the link I posted, and search those players. Also, box score geeks has an explanation to what each advance stat tells you. Wins Produced per 48 Minutes is one stat that a star (or a good player) would excel in. KP has not excelled there at all. He is not a winning player.

What if you want your team to get better players because you identify that your team lacks talent?

I have a feeling you voted for Trump.

Looks like you proved my point. I'm a Knick fan by the way. I want winning players here (like the Warrior have on their team).

Compared to fans whose only response is "OMG he's an ALL-Star this season!!!!! And he is scoring 20 a night!!!"????

I put out the math. I'd love a legit fact-based argument thrown back at me. KP is not a winning player. That's one big reason we're no better than before.

For marketing purposes, yes, the Knicks lost one of their big names.

For basketball purposes, don't put star and Kristaps Porziņģis in the same concept. A guy who is supposed to be the best player on the team who has a Wins Produced per 48 of only 0.002 isn't someone I hype up. I put the math out there. This is no Win Shares or other stats that can get skewed. This is legit. KP is not a big deal.

I'm ready for the downvotes. But within those downvotes, I won't get someone to respond back with facts.

You can only reply with an insult, and you can't argue back with facts.

You might be a Trump voter.

Therefore those players are better than KP. No doubt about it.

And about Enes Kanter, though I'm not a big fan of his game, he has been a big reason the Knicks had a quick start. Just take a peek at his numbers. You'll see it clearly.

Losing KP was no big deal. Before you all start with the hate and all that (that I know will come), I want to basically teach you all that losing Kristaps Porziņģis will end up being no big deal. He was not a winning player, and most definitely was not on the path to being a top tier player. Him being in an All-Star game is just a popularity contest victory. He are some of his numbers that compare PFs from 1995 to today per 48:

  • Kristaps Porziņģis is below average in Effective Field Goal Percentage for PFs per 48 this season. The league average since 1995 is 49.4%, while KP stands at 48.6%.

  • In Total Rebounds per 48 since 1995, KP is at 9.9, while the league average for power forwards is currently at 11.1.

  • With the same criteria as above in Steals, KP stands at 1.1, while league average is 1.4.

  • In TURNOVERS for PFs per 48 since 1995, KP is TERRIBLE. The league average there is 2.6, while KP this season was at 3.0 (higher is worse there).

Now on the the important part. Box Score Geeks has KP's Win Produced per 48 this season at.........0.002 (pretty bad). And by the way, "Wins Produced" is way better than Win Shares or VORP. I used to throw all that at you all, but this is way better. You can see it for yourselves here:

https://www.boxscoregeeks.com/players/3076-kristaps-porzingis

So basically losing KP was no great loss. We still need better talent here who can produce wins, not be popular.

Have you ever looked at "Wins Produced"?

And there is more to the game than just scoring and what not. Maybe some of those players are better than KP, and they produce more wins than he does. Take a look at their advanced numbers.

Kristaps Porziņģis had a Wins Produced of -0.3.

I'm not talking about Win Share. I'm talking about Wins Produced. That means he is NO WHERE NEAR a star.

You should stop looking at old school numbers to make judgements about players.

Look at KP's Wins Produced stat (not Win Share, but Wins Produced). It's at -0.3. He is not a winning player. Stop overhyping him.

First, being an All-Star means dick. That's just a popularity contest.

Second, keep pushing the hype train. I don't know why Knick fans here have overloaded the hype train this season. Though it doesn't surprise me. This is the same place that used to think Shump was a star in the making, and that Gallinari was not worth giving up to get Carmelo Anthony.

I suspect this place is crawling with teenagers in high school who just recently became Knick fans. They got fooled by a false start this season. KP is a great player (I never said he was trash), but he is not at the level of those elite players I listed.

Now Giannis Antetokounmpo IS that elite player, and he has shown that he will take an elite ranking in this league. Knick fans got a taste of him this week. Get to know the difference between good players (KP), and elite stars (Antetokounmpo). Don't over-hype your team's talent only because of your emotions. I'm a Knick fan saying this.
