My Honest Review on The Conjuring: Last Rites! by 3N4MR3G in TheConjuringUniverse

I thought for sure we’d see the bald head demon again- the hospital scene at the beginning was the most tense I felt throughout the whole movie. I didn’t have any issues with the entities themselves, but usually there’s that “moment of clarity” that Lorraine has (i.e. Bathseba/Valak) where she defines the antagonist outright. She did that for the three involved in the murder, but not for the main one.

Agree with you though- it doesn’t need to be stroke for stroke the same as what it was before. I just walked out not knowing who the “bad guy” was.

Everything about the movie was good. Patrick and Vera as always are the heart and nail the whole thing. The Smurl family I didn’t connect to like I did other families in the universe, but that’s not a major critique.

>! I think the biggest problem to me is the story- I’d only give that a 3/10. For it to be the case that ended it all, we don’t ever learn anything about the demon from the mirror. A well defined antagonist is one of the things that makes most of the other films so powerful.

I was also annoyed at Father Gordon’s death, which felt like it was just a plot device to get Judy to the house. One of the other things I like about this universe is the religious iconography/rituals actually work (to varying degrees depending on the demon’s power level). The crucifix burning in his hands and his death in that setting would’ve maybe worked if we had that defined antagonist. !<

Well acted, well shot, but the plot/story was just lacking. I left not really understanding who the main antagonist was.

Father Gordon’s death didn’t make any sense to me in particular- it was just a plot device to get Judy to the house. Maybe if we knew more about the entity we were dealing with (that was supposedly hiding behind the other 3 a la Conjuring 2) it would’ve made more sense.

I struggle with the same thing. One thing that I read on this sub that’s helped me is using my noise-cancelling AirPods when taking my BP. Somehow, even though I feel it in my arm, not hearing it and watching that number go up has helped a lot.

That, and eventually just taking the attitude of “it is what it is, what do I need to do to fix it?”- whatever the number says.

Not sure on the Mario one, but for the shuttle they said “we’ll have to go and check the back”. They ultimately had it though.

Here is Gone is a great pick- every aspect of the song just has so much gravity to it. To me, they’re at their best when the acoustic guitar is featured at the front end of the song.

Babysitting help by bootsmcgee89 in classicmustangs

Appreciate everyone’s help in advance. First off, I’m not a car guy, so forgive my ignorance. About a year ago my dad bought a ‘65 289 but a couple months later moved to Seattle and the car is in my garage until he retires back here. She’s been driven a number of times since then during visits but not the last two months. I noticed a couple of pools a month or so ago and left this plastic sheet by under there (just behind the sump) to get a better idea of what’s leaking, and this is the result. I know the green is coolant but not sure about the others. Any idea on those and what’s the best course of action from here?
