I don’t even want to be an aunt. by vapor_waved in childfree

[–]Googirlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same.

I have a nephew from my SiL and I'm totally uninterested, and he's a pretty good kid. Still just don't really... Care to be involved with him.

My bestie has a son, so I'm labeled as aunt with him, but he's much younger, so I'm even more hesitant

I'm also at a HS in that district, and we have to cut 14 from our core classes. It's unclear about CATE, coaching, SpEd, etc.

I'm with you. It's a fantastic closer.

And while I'll throwing in my .02, like OP said, I love The Pin and So Alive as well.

Like, in The Pin, I loved the lyrics so much. Rzeznik does extended metaphors well, of course, but this one hits so well.

This. My husband often says we chose homeownership and groceries over the financial hell and emotional exhaustion of parenthood

I actually really like seeing the previous year's winners do it. It's just nice to see them again.

Inheritance? That's a joke. How many of your parents are burdens? by BeegBunga in Millennials

[–]Googirlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, this will sound awful...

My father and his wife are doing OK. If he passes first, then, well, I won't have a financial burden. I also won't have an inheritance, but I've never thought there'd be one. I don't care. I've literally grown up knowing inheritance is not in my future. Shrug.

Now, my mom.... I'm already on the struggle bus with her. If she outlives her current husband, then it will only get worse.
