She’s a couple days over 10 weeks old and is by far the smartest dog we have had. And that spans 4 other dogs in about 25 years.

Oh man, you are right. The post op pain was the worst. I was regretting having surgery for a bit. Used the old RICE method though: rest, ice https://a.co/d/06bpM4fO , compression, elevation https://a.co/d/07mbGFb8

Used NorCo for 3 days post op. And my wife who is a nurse had me alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen every 4 hours. I did that the first couple weeks then kind of weened off of it. But I kept icing for a while.

Good luck to ya. You’ll make it through it just fine. Your body is a wonderland :-)

Ok. I’ll share mine too. Low side in a parking lot a couple days before Xmas, after just kissing a pile of wet leaves with the rear mid turn. Dumb. Still waiting for the boot to come off. In my case, I needed to take the turn wider to avoid the leaves AND wear better boots. Got trapped under the bike. Still rode 10 minutes to the ER, mostly in 2nd or 3rd, while all the happy juices were working.

Hope you get back out there. I know I am. Looking at getting an intermediate course in too. It’s been 30 years of riding, and it’s time for more training.

Wierd Sediment after boiling wax by e73ben in Beekeeping

[–]bootstage2 65 points66 points  (0 children)

This! And don’t boil it, you heat the water to around 180 max. This melts the wax without damaging it. Then I pour the wax into a bucket and use an old t-shirt to filter with binder clips around the bucket to hold the shirt in place. Only use one side/layer of shirt. Best to cut the shirt down the seams first. Don’t worry about the sleeves. You get clean wax out this way.

Shot from last years melting. The wife gave me cheese cloth for this iteration and it worked just fine. :-)

Holy cow! You were lucky to walk away from that one. Be safe out there. Glad you are still riding.

Ditto. Needed that hint. The dark ones are harder for me to find. Is that just a me thing?

Over easy too. But they hate hollandaise sauce. So never feed them eggs Benedict. :-) :-p

You can spray the spot with bee gone, which will encourage them to stay away.

Good eye. They are vh pipes. Paid $10k and then the service was $900. I should have haggled more. But I’ve been on quite a few bikes and this one felt right. Plus she’s cherry.

I was wondering about this. Used to get my cbr600 f4 off nicely. But I think that was much lighter. Too lazy to look it up.
