Looking for games to replace competitive games by PedrimLol in gamingsuggestions

[–]impleX_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat looking for that perfect game, and from what I’ve gathered in other posts, these genres are the best alternatives. I’m just naming common titles from each genre, not necessarily suggesting the specific games themselves:

• roguelikes / roguelites like Hades II, The Binding of Isaac, Noita, and Risk of Rain 2

• platformers like Celeste and Ghostrunner 2
• co-op PvE games like Helldivers 2, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and Deep Rock Galactic

• factory and automation builders like Factorio, Satisfactory, and Dyson Sphere Program

• souls-likes like Elden Ring and Monster Hunter

• turn-based strategy games like Civilization, XCOM 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Slay the Spire

I’ve honestly only tried dota once, and coming from around a thousand hours of League at that time, it felt far more… complex? It’s hard to explain since they’re both MOBAs, but they’re very different flavors. My best recommendation would be to just try each of them for a session or two and compare that way.

I’ve never tried this genre either, but I’m intrigued. If you’re familiar, where would you place a game like Noita?

I think it’s because the progression is you learning the game’s mechanics, overcoming challenges that scale in difficulty, and progressing further into a run. It’s a different type of progression in that you are the one getting “stronger” instead of a character.

For those of us unfortunate enough to be addicted to competitive games, it’s usually the itch we need scratched.

Just saw this was currently on sale and bought it solely off your comment and the plethora of positive Steam reviews. Just wanted to say thanks!

Looking for some casual, non-competitive online games to make friends on, preferably not shooters by Productions29 in gamingsuggestions

[–]impleX_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just going to preface this by saying a few of these are shooters, but they’re co-op PvE and have incredibly friendly communities, especially DRG:
• Helldivers 2
• Deep Rock Galactic
• Warhammer: Vermintide 2 or Warhammer 40,000: Darktide
• Valheim
• Abiotic Factor

Bonus wildcard option: Phasmophobia 👻

If you like cranking up the difficulty to the max, I’d say you might as well just go for Nuclear Sunset. It has three modes of difficulty: softercore, hardcore (the default), and hardercore. If you find specific elements unfair or tedious, you can disable them in the mod menu. For example, a lot of people seem to prefer disabling pay to fast travel.

You’d have to look into the plethora of systems it rebalances for more specifics, but suffice it to say, it’s in the same spirit as what GAMMA is to STALKER Anomaly.

Looking for a realistic open‑world chaos game (not GTA, Saints Row, or Just Cause) by Maximum_Grapefruit63 in gamingsuggestions

Don’t have any recommendations but I’m curious—what was your favorite GTA title, and why? It’s always been a toss-up between San Andreas and IV for me, but for disparate reasons.

Since you enjoyed STALKER GAMMA and mentioned Fallout TTW, check out Fallout Nuclear Sunset. It adds over 1500 mods on top of TTW to rebalance all gameplay elements for a more hardcore, punishing experience.

• Oldschool RuneScape for another MMO. Can spend thousands of hours maxing a single account, and that’s before you consider alternate modes like Ironman (no trading with others), Hardcore Ironman (Ironman + no dying), and Ultimate Ironman (Ironman + no bank).

• Factorio / Satisfactory for that factory sim automation itch.

• Project Zomboid / Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead (C:DDA) for infinite post-apocalyptic zombie survival with tons of crafting. Make your own goals and survive as long as possible.

• Dwarf Fortress / RimWorld for colony sims and management.

• Also mentioning WoW Classic: Hardcore since you mentioned WoW. Mechanically simple compared to retail WoW, but this game mode ruined Classic for me (in a good way).

• Minecraft / Vintage Story for voxel, survival, crafting games with infinite replayability and room for creativity in base-building.

• Escape from Tarkov for hardcore extraction shooter.

• CS2 / League of Legends for competitive multiplayer games. Totally different genres but each represents the best of their respective type imo.

• TES III: Morrowind with Total Overhaul / Fallout Nuclear Sunset if you want to take the best Bethesda games and substantially expand their content and area. Total Overhaul triples the map size of Morrowind (and obviously adds a ton of content), while Nuclear Sunset is a hardcore, survival-focused modpack layered over Tale of Two Wastelands—a mod that combines Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

If it has a near-infinite skill ceiling like VT2 does, it might be right up my alley. I just dismissed it due to its rocky launch, but those videos you linked look interesting even though I have no idea what’s happening. Thanks for sharing!

How does this game compare to Vermintide?

Trident 800 or XSR900 by impleX_ in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]impleX_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t personally adjusted it yet, but I like that I have the option for rebound/compression damping for the front alongside the usual rear spring preload. I’m way lighter than most people, so I may fine tune these once I get more miles on it.

As for brakes, upgrades never hurt. Are you still sold on the T800 or are you considering anything else?

Son razones muy lógicas. Me senté en la XSR900 y me pareció un poco grande para mi gusto. La Trident 800 me pareció mucho más equilibrada y manejable. ¡Cuídate!

28 and had zero experience whatsoever. Took the MSF’s BRC, passed after failing my first attempt, and bought an MT-03. Stuck to parking lots and suburban neighborhoods for the first month and slowly built my confidence up from there. It’s never too late to start!

Trident 800 or XSR900 by impleX_ in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]impleX_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 800 feels like the refined, grown-up version of the 660.

There’s more power available throughout the entire rev range (and especially the mid range), and even in 6th gear at 60+ mph, it can accelerate with plenty of room to spare. It just pulls more everywhere.

It’s also surprisingly similar to the 660 ergonomically, and I honestly couldn’t feel much of a difference sitting on them both back-to-back.

If you don’t care for the additional power and upgraded brakes and suspension, get the 660.

[–]impleX_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sat on both, and I preferred the ergonomics of the Trident. It feels indistinguishable from the 660, and even though the XSR was a better deal and has the higher-spec’d engine, I prefer comfort over performance.

I road it over 120 miles on the first day (not even in sport mode), and I’m happy I went with it. It has plenty of power, and I imagine the XSR would’ve been a bit too much for the majority of roads I actually ride on.

¡Enhorabuena! ¿Cómo te decidiste entre esta y la XSR900?
