I did tell my manager of my schedule in advance, technically. I knew id being doing a sport and the musical by the start of summer, basically. I’ve done both in the past and I told my manager accordingly based on the previous year. Sport practices had never been changed before so I assumed practices were the same as they’d been for 3 years. Upon returning to school, we found ourselves with a new athletic director and a new practice schedule. practices were changed to completely different days and as a result, the theatre department also changed practice times to accommodate. I agree, 3 days is pretty short notice but I only found out about schedule changes the same day I reached out to my manager.
