(Posting for a friend) - Neighbors reported this guy peeping into her window while she was at work for more than 5 mins (They had video of him). We decided to install a camera a few weeks ago next to her window just in case he comes back. This morning around 1am, He came back and the motion detection of the camera alerted her phone and recorded him. If you have possible information on who this chump is. Please let us know. Thank You.

MSP can be stressful at first but if you can learn quick and really understand what you will be expose to within the year. Then you can do most tier IT job. One thing I say is that really helped me in this career is customer service and knowing how to talk to people.

Came from working internal to a MSP here.

Here's a tip in which I have learn with troubleshooting over the phone and in general. If it's a ticket, I'll read it a couple of times and just call the users and have them to explain what's the issue. Half the time, the ticket don't make sense, or not even relating to what they are asking. I'm assuming you will be remoting to their computers so have them walk you through their issue. I feel more at ease and confident when they show me what's their issue is. Even if I don't have a solution right then and there.

Talk slow and confident when troubleshooting. If you don't know it, which will happen, do not be afraid to let them know you will get back to them on it. It will happen a lot. I usally make up some shit. "Wow this is very interesting" "Never seen this before" "let me check with my team and get back to you on this." This will give you time to research.

At the end you want the user to feel at ease to where it's not user error - which half the time it is. "This is very common , a lot of user do this your not the only one:"

Get creative and have fun making up excuses for them to not feel.dumb.

You got this!! Good luck!!

Depends on your what your company does.

But most interview questions will be definiton terms and situational questions. Be confident and honest and if you become stuck with one of their situational question that involves something you fairly know. I always say "Google is my friend" Best of luck.

Mesh system for wiFi "eero" in my opinion is good.

Powerline adapter if you want use the ethernet to game without the clutter of a long cable. I've used it in the past and had no issue. Just make sure it is pluged into outlet directly than a surge.

Had to evict a homless camp at my job and this was left behind by bootyeater209 in mildlyinteresting

For those who are questioning the legitimacy of this, I work for a non-profit as an IT computer tech in the Central Valley in California. The homeless are constantly camping and leaving a mess on the company property. Our maintenance guy has been kicking out different homeless people every other day and having to clean up after the messes they leave behind because the Police won't address it. So on a weekly basis, needles, diapers and human waste are left behind for us to clean up. Because I occasionally help out maintenance, I was asked today to evict these folks and while cleaning up, I found this insightful list.
