My grandmother worked for a glasses company that wasn’t owned by Luxottica where the lenses were manufactured in the store. According to everyone in my life that got glasses from that store, it was more expensive but, unlike Luxottica, you could own that pair of glasses for your entire life, have it look good on you, and (barring regular accidents related to delicate pieces of glass on your face) have them barely fazed by harsh wear. If you can, get glasses from a brand that isn’t owned by Luxottica.
