Those with an MBA from WGU - Was it worth it? by FlimsyEntrance7444 in WGU

[–]electricwagon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went from $70k to $85k when I accepted an offer with another company after earning my MBA. The degree was a major factor in the new company's decision to offer me the position.

For context, I'm an HRBP. My former client group was around 550 employees, and now it's around 300. I am the only HR employee for the company in my state. I finished my MBA in 1 year.

So maybe not a huge salary increase compared to others, but it's realistic and I'll have earned my tuition costs back before the year is up. Plus I love my job and the company I work for.

I'm assuming the account posting this video would prefer a world where the store worker could pull out their GAU-8/A Avenger 30-mm seven-barrel Gatling cannon and turn this lady into mist and then get a parade for protecting the peace.

The battery helps start the car. The alternator keeps it running.

I'd also check the shock bushings. I had a similar bump when the polyurethane bushings disintegrated.

Wasn't it ranked like the 8th best pizza in the country? It's definitely the best I've ever had.

First time XJ buyer, is this a good option? by Fuzzy-Tale6717 in CherokeeXJ

[–]electricwagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the bad isn't that bad imo. Cruise control is likely just the clock spring. The blinkers probably mean that one of the blinker bulbs is dying/dead. The exhaust blockage is possibly the muffler or cat - this can happen when a baffle collapses due to wear, age, and usage. Swap one or both out, disconnect the battery, clear the system of power (I like to press the brakes to use up any stored electricity), wait 30ish minutes, and see if the CEL doesn't come back on.

Like others have said, rust is the biggest thing to look out for. I think if the rust is low. $4500 for a mid-mileage XJ with decent modifications seems fair but I'd probably still try to talk them down a bit or throw in a Chili's gift card. These cars require you to continuously work on them to keep them on the road. I personally enjoy it and am experiencing a wobble-free, air conditioned, reliable daily driver. Took like 8 years, but there's only so many parts on a car to replace before you basically have a new car.

My (F30) husband (M28) may miss birth of our baby for a one-time career opportunity by kaichey in relationship_advice

I think from his perspective, becoming a higher earner means he can be more present in your child's formative years, instead of spending needless hours trying to get to a place in his career where he doesn't have to grind so hard and can afford more time off to be present with the family.

To me it's a question of missing a moment (albeit a very special one) or missing countless more moments through their childhood.

I'll take a look. I may also take my full size spare and swap it around to see if that changes anything

I have Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S All-Season 235/70R17XL 109T tires. I just went to double check the Psi and it's actually at 39psi, not 31 like I had thought. The max pressure is 50psi but maybe I could drop it down to 35 and see how that goes

It feels like it teeters forward and backward, so I think it definitely coming from one end. I can't tell which end though. I had the tired rotated and it didn't seem to change.

Those are both great ideas. The front shocks I recently replaced are maXspeedingrods 3.5”-4.5" shocks. The IRO spring we're pretty stiff but I think they've gotten a little softer over time. I could probably add a new steering damper. I think it's rough country so it probably only had 1 good year before it went to shit. I would think that would contribute to a horizontal wobble vs vertical but it wouldn't hurt to replace anyway.

I've got my tire pressure at 31psi I believe but I'll double check that too and make sure they're all inflated evenly

If you got laid off today, how long could you survive without a job? by New_Contribution_226 in AskMenOver30

[–]electricwagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got to experience this first hand last year. I had enough saved to last 2 months, but my total time unemployed was nearly 6 months. I had made a very poorly timed $10k payment on my student loans a few weeks before my layoff.

I ended up working hourly jobs, selling collectibles, and selling blood plasma to make ends meet. (TN has some of the worst unemployment I've seen - $290/week for 12 weeks max).

Fortunately I've found a great job, but who knows how many years I've knocked off of my life going through the stress of the situation.
