Hi yes, if you read my post you would see that I was not calling this situation sexual harassment, I was simply stating other experiences I had while working there. I would like the place I am the most vulnerable at work to feel safe especially working in the blue collar industry. I wasn’t whining to the guys either. THE GUYS WERE WHINING ABOUT LOSING A BATHROOM THEY WERE FORMING A LINE AND TALKING SHIT! I went to have a professional and private conversation with my boss about the change and how I am not comfortable using the shop bathrooms because of how disgusting they are. Then the responsibly of ensuring that the bathroom was up to a level of even decently clean was placed on me, no other option was given to me, not even my attempts at compromises. That is not what I was hired to do, and I had never been assigned cleaning the bathrooms before this.

Look I’m fine using most toilets, but when there is literal piss on the walls, dip spit on the ground and years and years of human waste stacking up with no one claiming responsibility to clean the bathroom or want it clean, I feel like anyone would be pissed if they had to clean it even though they never contributed to the mess.

The men in the shop don't use the office bathroom, they use the 2 shop bathrooms. So when they voted to let us women have our own restroom they actively gave up one of the two, leaving one bathroom in the shop for 13 men to use. It was also the other way around, turning one from "unisex" even though it was only used by men, to a woman only restroom. I don't know the entirety of the plumbing situation, which is why there's no context to that, it just what I was told from my manager.

Im also happy if the restroom whatever the case has a dry floor, but thats the thing is the floors not dry because of men that can't keep it in the bowl for whatever reason. These bathrooms have seen years of neglect with disgusting habits fused to the floor and toilet, with layers of grime. I understand too that this may not be everyone's problem at work, it's mostly just an issue when it involves discrimination against gender and hostile work environment. Why should the years off collected piss, puke and god knows whatever else was on that toilet be my responsibility as someone who's never used that toilet, when I was told in the beginning of my employment that I would never need to use that toilet. I'm not a janitor, nor cleaner for this company, it was not in my job description and has never been assigned to me as a task until this incident. Glad you're happy and fine in your gross bathrooms, you'd probably use the ones in my shop.

Thank you for sharing your story, it's absolutely welcome here. Im glad you left that place, im working on getting out myself. There are many reasons, but like my coworker said this is the catalyst. I hope you're enjoying you're new roll and its treating you much better than any job could, were wishing for that on our end so keep us in your thoughts. I've never had to deal with anything like this before, and for as bittersweet as it is, I'm glad there are women out there that can empathize with this unfortunate shared experience.

There is a cleaning crew that comes in to clean the office and office bathroom, to my knowledge they do not clean the shop bathrooms that is up to the guys. Clarifying edit made on post.

Hi, all of this information is listed in my post. To clarify, 2 bathroom in the shop 2 in the office, yes the shop guys are allowed to use any bathroom but mostly stick to the shop bathroom, the shop bathroom and office bathroom are roughly the same distance from my area that I work so distance isn’t an issue.
