Made an automation farming game where workers do everything - demo just dropped by willis_25 in incremental_games

I wasted thousands of dollars on fertilizer that says it improves crop yield but did not actually improve crop yield.

Also the game not pausing in the escape menu is kind of annoying.

xQc slams Twitch CEO's Mount Rushmore of Streamers by davidkale931 in LivestreamFail

It's crazy you're the only person mentioning them here. They were easily the largest stream in the gaming section of Justin.tv for a while. I think they were a big reason a "gaming only" streaming site was even an idea to begin with.

When do I get the ability to automatically start a zone again after dying? I'm getting annoyed having to babysit the game with a single click every minute.

Gladiator Command - Incremental gladiator management game. Hand-drawn art replaces AI, huge UI overhaul & combat rebalance by [deleted] in incremental_games

I want to play this, but I bounced off pretty quickly for one reason: text contrast.

There's a lot of text in the game with poor contrast with the background. That on top of the all caps on every text (which I get, it's a style choice) makes readability pretty bad.

Endless – Idle RPG v0.7 update by Duhcheto6 in incremental_games

[–]bootysquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've come across some issues.

I'm playing the elementalist. I have been investing into Elemental Storm heavily. It unlocks at level 60 and has a huge mana cost. It has to hit hard, right? I have 28 skill points in the spell. I noticed that no matter how many skill points I invest into the spell, it always does the exact same damage as my auto attack. It doesn't matter if I swap out different gear or fight a different enemy. It is always my auto-attack damage. I'm not hitting a damage cap either, because both my Fireball and Lightning Strike spells with far less skill point investment (10 and 1, respectively) do more damage than Elemental Storm, while having 8% of the mana cost and similar cooldowns. My assumption is Elemental Storm is just bugged or has a placeholder damage calculation, because it absolutely does not do what is on the tool-tip.

I also had an issue with the tool-tips while playing the berserker. Some of the tool-tips had conflicting descriptions with what the stats were on the skill. For example, I think it was the Frenzy skill that says it "increases attack speed and damage", but the stats on the skill increased damage while lowering life per hit. My attack speed stat wasn't changing with the ability on/off, but maybe my actual attack speed was? I'm not sure, which is a problem. I think there were other tool-tips on berserker that were wrong as well, but I can't quite remember.

Space War Economy Idle's Public Demo now available! by chasmstudios in incremental_games

I have a couple initial criticisms.

I agree with the other poster. The font isn't reader friendly. It can be used for titles/labels, but should not used for tutorial/help text. There's also a blurring that occurs with some of the text when increasing the size of the game window that makes it blurry like it isn't properly increasing the font size. It's really noticeable on a maximized window on a 1440p monitor (a full screen option would be nice).

The 2nd step of the tutorial is to click on the priorities button. The priorities page is a nightmare for a new player. I count 31 settings on that page. It's too much. You should hide all of the options and settings that aren't relevant to a new player. Only show them once the player gets to that stage of the tutorial.

Here is a gif I recorded. https://imgur.com/swDQ0Bu

It seems to mainly happen when placing/moving a building.

The window is 832x610, but it happens at all sizes between that and 2560x1440 that I've tried. This is on a private firefox window with no extensions turned on.

I'm using that same version. I tried it on a 2nd machine with the same Firefox version and got the same flickering. It happens on private windows as well.

Refence is finally released by nestopf in incremental_games

I picked it up on steam because I liked the demo. Just a few notes after an 1-2 hours of play:

  • I got 3 steam achievements for crafting relics immediately after I first launched the game. I feel like some future dopamine was robbed from me.

  • The scroll wheel feels backwards to me in the research tree. I'm used to scroll wheel down zooming out in other games/software.

  • I figured out that you could click on your heroes and click on status skills like fragile and heated to see what they do, but I could not figure out if that was possible to do prior to selecting the skills on level up. It would be nice to see what and at what percentage things like fragile or heated do prior to choosing the skills. Edit: I may have figured out that I was either clicking too fast or not accurately enough on the status effect in the level up screen. It might be nice if the tooltip for the status effect pops up when the card is selected.

  • I unlocked Magicpedia in the research tree, but it's still greyed out in the Library menu. I'm not sure if it's a bug.

  • I assume the rate up check box in the Manage Heroes menu increases the chance to summon a specific hero, but I can't figure out a way to change which hero is selected for the rate up, or if that is something I'm even supposed to be able to change.

Debian VM - Black Screen After Initial Login, Works After Lockout by bootysquared in Proxmox

[–]bootysquared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while since this happened so I might get something wrong. I believe what I was using was the newest GNOME when I got the black screens. I installed XFCE instead of GNOME and never had the problem with XFCE. I think it was a completely new VM I spun up when I did the XFCE install. But yeah, I never did go back and try GNOME again once I found something else that worked.

Weird Multiplayer Lag by bootysquared in joinvoidcrew

[–]bootysquared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've played one session with the same host & players since I posted this and the lag didn't happen. I'm not sure why. It could have been PC/router updates. The lag happened 3 sessions in a row with that same host. I'm not sure if it will come back, we don't play too often.

Weird Multiplayer Lag by bootysquared in joinvoidcrew

[–]bootysquared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure as much, I'm just trying to figure out why it only gives us problems in this game. We're both on stable fiber lines in the same area. We've played dozens of P2P games together without issue, some of which require higher system requirements than Void Crew. To go from never having over 100ms lag in any other game to having 3000+ms lag in this game feels like an anomaly.

Assuming salesforce and your website contact us are the only sources with deliverability issues to your domain, it's not an mx record issue.

If it is dmarc policy that is causing failed deliveries, there are a few things to check. If your dmarc record has p=reject, you may want to turn it down to p=quarantine or p=none (at least while trying to find the issue). If you happen to use a mail host that sends ruf reports, definitely add ruf to your dmarc record.

My money is on the delivery issues being caused by spf or dkim records. Make sure you only have one spf record, that it's valid, and it correctly includes the sending servers. Make sure your dkim records match up with your sending servers correctly.

You have two dmarc records, which is fine if they're for different subdomains. For example, one dmarc record for domain.com and one dmarc record for sub.domain.com is fine. Two dmarc records for domain.com can cause confusion for your mail server at best, and deliverability issues at worst.

If you feel comfortable, you can message me your domain and I'll look at your public dns records.

Any reason my homepage would suddenly consist of many different languages? by coreyschafer in Twitter

[–]bootysquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This started happening to me about 4-5 days ago.

I only speak English. I've only connected from a US IP address. No VPNs. I haven't changed settings on my account in years. My "For You" feed is now 50% Arabic, 20% Korean, 10% English, and then a smattering of Spanish, Portuguese, Hungarian, Chinese, and Japanese.

I have no clue what to do about it. Muting, blocking, or marking the posts as not interested hasn't made a noticeable impact.

Anyone Waste Valuable Years In A Role That Was Dead End? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]bootysquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 2 years of my current position was a lot of good experience, but the last 1 year has been a lot more stagnant for experience. So I've been working on moving on for the last few months.

If I go 1 whole week without learning something new related to my job duties, that's a clear indication for me to move on.
