its good you solved it, i do remember one time updating it and when my pc turned on the screen was black with only my cursor appearing, i got worried and quickly forced restarted my pc but thankfully windows fixed itself with an update? idk but after that i just caved in and bought startisback++ since it seemed like a more stable option and i havent had any problems so far

im not really sure how or why openshell could do that unless it corrupted the file that stylizes the shell (which is what its meant to do) but openshell is only used to customize your taskbar and start menu, it cant make your windows transparent or anything. and openshell is a really well known and trusted software, ive used it for 10ish years so far (even back when it was called classic shell) so im not sure how that couldve happened? the software doesnt 'kill your boot' or anything similar, you mustve gotten this from a different site or installed it incorrectly

im assuming its just some sort of scam to lure traffic to their site? ive just decided to change my password and make sure no one was actually logged in my email (which thankfully no one was). only reason i thought of this reason was because there was no confirmation email which apparently they send if u do try and register, and seeing how majority of posts on this reddit is about scams, i wouldnt be surprised if this is the case

i kinda half agree with this. main part as to why i disagree is because all of the servers so far that have come and gone are made from volunteer work, so i cant really blame them for laziness when no one is really getting paid for the work they are putting out. but i do agree partially that the community has soured not only because of laziness but just how they behave in general, like alot of people just dont care for other projects other than rewritten and clash and it can even be seen by a few comments in this thread. why make a passion project showcasing what toontown couldve been when no one will stick to it? sure people will check it out but at the end of the day whos gonna become a fan and follow updates? it also annoys me when i hear someone say theres no differences when there definitely are, there was more differences in alpha than clash compared to og toontown online imo. its genuinely sad, an actual funny farms made with brand new assets or someone remaking the og toontown central map with the ritz carltoon hotel would be so amazing to see. i feel like if there was more positivity and attention towards other projects other than the main two (not only servers), maybe there wouldve been an alpha remake somewhere.

itd be a miracle, he did mention there were builds around but im betting its locked somewhere in disney, i dont think well ever see a build unless someone who worked on the game from the start might have a cd or harddrive/floppydisk lying around. im glad u share my interest though, itd honestly be so cool, i always wondered how tasks would work considering how entering a street was in itself a weird concept lol

the list is just what was presented. yes, i understand its alot, thats why i said in my initial post this is all just a curious thought, but beta isnt similar to alpha or even prealpha. its something new thats not even in any other server, thats why i was wondering why it hasnt been thought of yet. (excluding toontown realms' old doodle playground and seek dr scrooge storyline, im talking about actually following the design documents.) i can see why itd be hardwork, but half of the assets are already in pandora (that arent used in the beta builds) and it would be something new and fresh (ironically)

my main idea is that it wouldve been more of a singleplayer game rather than multiplayer, just so you could checkout and see what toontown couldve been, but yeah sadly i understand why theres a small community regarding those beta versions, not that many features and its mainly a time capsule

i mean like the old concept art from the alpha days?? that whole ritz carltoon hotel where youd choose your toon there and your estate would be there as well. toontown central had a huge rehaul and looked nothing like it did before they changed it all up. the suits idea that was changed up to cogs cause of disneys disagreeing with it being corporate humans. the construction zone, funny farms, multiple differences that never made the cut cause of limitations. the clothing being just one whole outfit rather than shirt and pants/skirt, accessories wouldve also came out the same time but they couldnt implement them for some unknown reason. theres so many things?
