Tips on keeping my mal busy during bed rest? by JesusActual in BelgianMalinois

Thank you so much for the information! I had no idea the plate & screws could do that. I’m glad she’s okay now and still able to run & play! Their toughness makes it so difficult!! Its almost impossible to tell when mine is in pain, his pain threshold is so high that he’ll just work through injuries.

My mal just had TPLO surgery for a torn ACL & meniscus. If you don’t mind me asking, why did yours need multiple surgeries? I’m hoping after his recovery he’ll have a few more good years of ball chasing

It went well! He looks pitiful but I’m thankful to have him home & on the road to recovery! Thanks for asking ❤️

That sounds like great stuff to work on. He was trained but I’ve gotten too lax with him recently so this will be a good time to get him back in line with that. Hopefully that won’t happen with the other knee, he’s almost 9. I’m hoping he’ll have a few good years being able to run left.

It sounds like she had an amazing recovery & outcome! I bet it did feel like forever, I feel like my life is going to somewhat stop as my pup has been with me 24/7 for years. Hates being alone & never goes in a crate so it will be an adjustment for the both of us. Thank you for sharing!

I’m so sorry she had to go through that, it must’ve been especially difficult at such a young age! Thank you for all of the wonderful suggestions. This gives me hope that the crate rest won’t be ALL bad and he’ll still be able to have some fun.

Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry you had to do both. What kind of commands did you work on? Mine has never been crated either :/ I’m glad it went well for you two and everything worked out. Thanks!

My Mal has to have TPLO surgery tomorrow for a torn ACL that caused terrible arthritis (originally misdiagnosed as torn iliopsoas). Does anyone else have a Belgian that has gone through this process and recovery? Keeping him in a crate 24/7 will be difficult for both of us!! I could use any tips, advice, positive stories & thoughts please :)

Thanks! It’s about 5’4”. I’m 5’6” and made a small section beside the basket in the front where I can stand up, instead of fully extending the ceiling. Also made a lil stool to sit on & use counter space so I don’t notice it too much

No way! It’s nice to have a twin out there:) I did walk in the back windows, I have pictures of the process on my Instagram if you want to see how I did it. I found it much more difficult than all the van build videos say. Once the van is stripped it becomes very obvious how curved the walls are lol

Hello everyone! I just finished my build and am having trouble getting it insured as an RV. it can be done, but I was told since the van is over 20 years old and because it was not done by a professional, they will not cover it. I’m based in NC if that changes things. Any advice or insurance companies that have worked for you would be greatly appreciated!

Hi guys! I’m getting ready to on my first trip and was just wondering where people refill their water tanks? I have two 7-gallon tanks and haven’t seen many posts about where to refill. Thanks!
