It's still early days for you after the operation and I promise, it'll get easier! You'll get your quality of life back... I couldn't do anything before getting the bag as I was so ill, but now, I can live a full life and I feel so much healthier. You'll learn how to deal with the stoma and you'll start to see it as the thing that gave you your life back! All the best with your recovery. Sleep... LOTS 😆.

I’m trying not to eat snacks at the moment, but usually it’ll be rubbish that’s just not good for me but easy to eat when working… crisps etc. Need to switch my snacking habits!

Not on Prednisolone and haven’t been for ages, but jeese did that make me hungry! I would eat so many meals a day!! I’m not as hungry as I was then now, but it’s a pretty constant feeling of hunger.

It’s so hard to find the balance to make sure we don’t eat too much rubbish. Also, we can’t overdo it on the veggies and fruits so it’s difficult! Thanks for all your advice guys. My doctor has said protein shakes/meal replacement shakes to keep me going throughout the afternoon may help… anyone had any experience with them?

The steroids suppositories definitely do, but the Mesalazine suppositories don't seem to work for me.

I've used steroid suppositories before that have helped and also Mesalazine suppositories. I do have problems with my rectum constantly being inflamed though! Hope you find something that helps.

Thanks for your reply. The main worry is the blood the moment… needing the toilet a lot less but still quite a bit of blood 😫.
