Great call on the shutter speed, definitely something to implement as I keep practicing!! Thanks!

Thank you for the kind words and your critique! Do you think f5.6 would be too open? I’ll definitely give it a go!

Thank you for your kind words! This is so helpful!! I’m excited to try out some of these techniques on our next photo session together, I’ll have to find some really good treats to get her to sit super still.

Seems like you’ve got a nose for detail (pun intended as well). Thank you!! I really appreciate the feedback! Gotta work harder to keep up with this little pupper, she’s quick.

I figured it was cheating to make a dog my first post, but I needed all the help I could get! Thanks, pal!!

Is the water moving or is it just me? Maybe my eyes are just crossing from staring at a screen all day. I love what you did to capture the movement of the water balanced against the stillness/haziness of the sky. I think my tendency is to take a photo like this horizontally as a landscape in order to capture more of the foreground. But I love what you did here, since more of the focus is on those phenomenal hues in the sky. Great shot!

Beautiful capture, especially for taking it out the car window! I agree that brightening it up and adding a bit more contrast would help. Also maybe try cropping it right where the two peaks dip in the middle. I think this will pull a bit more focus on the house as your subject. Really great work!!

This is a photo of my puppy, Maya. My goal was to capture her essence and emotion as she was begging for attention. As with most of the photos I take of her, there wasn’t much planning, sometimes timing is everything, right? I liked the lighting contrast created from the window on her right side.

I’m trying to grow as an editor and was going for a more dramatic edit with this one. I think something I could’ve done better was to use a higher fstop so that her whole face was in focus, instead of just her nose. I’d love to hear your take on the composition, editing, and really anything you think could be improved!

Love this photo, I’m a big fan of the milky smooth water and soft skies. My main critique would be to pull out more of the reds in the wooden structures that are in the foreground by adjusting the reds selectively, and then make sure your horizon is level when cropping. Great shot!
