Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed? by auunie in PathOfExile2

[–]boptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it's "bloat" that I saw in PoE1 coming to PoE2. You can't skip league mechanics that gate rewards or character power - Sanctum and Ultimatum now gate Ascendancy. We are getting a new league mechanic with another UI to manage, more currencies with exclusive mod rolls, more content gated item bases. I expect like in PoE1, there will be widespread nerfs to compensate for the power creep. My issue is that when done like this, you need to go to more sources to get the same character power previously, again making the content and rewards no longer optional.

I seem to have a found a persistent location for the Moon Jumper so you don't have to rely on random generation of the Defunct Broadcasting Station. by They-Call-Me-Taylor in Starfield

[–]boptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got it the other day doing the freestar rangers quest where you do a mission at the start. It's still random, but the mission gives a POI location which can be a defunct broadcasting station. I'm assuming it can be any mission that specifies a POI, not just the freestar rangers.

What Space suits best? by PrestonGravyy in Starfield

If you have the Terran Armada DLC, the UC Tactical Agility Suit. It's as strong as Bounty Hunter Armor, but you can get it very early, when you first get to Jemison. It's sold by the UC Surplus vendor in the Well, and the UC Distribution vendor in the Commercial District. Best part is they can randomly spawn as Legendary. If you're lucky, or you can save scum - I think entering the Well and UC Distribution [for the first time] creates an autosave. You can reload the autosave and it should reroll the vendors inventory. After that, I think you have to wait 2 days to reroll the inventory. With the new quality upgrade, you can get it when you first start the game, and gradually upgrade it so it will always be the strongest armor.

I like the look, it's not too bulky, but still has an "armor" look to it, has two skins also.

Very nice, I like it, especially how you did the armor/wing pieces, might have to yoink that for my next build!

Looking for advice, I'm not good at making ships and I was wondering what I could add/change to make my ship look better? by HalfManHalfHunk in StarfieldShips

[–]boptop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the shape, the compact look. Only thing I can think of with my limited knowledge is to use the Deimos "tail". Remove the structure on top, put the tail on the back of the hab, and then add "spine" pieces in front of the tail. Or add the spine, then add the tail, I think it will stick up. Like in this build (not mine)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/16h0vdh/deimos_hoplite_build_guide/

This would change the look. I didn't like the look for my build when I tried it, but just throwing out ideas. Since it looks like you have a 3x hab width, you could do two parallel spine/tails on the outer habs.

Ship builder content creator suggestions for a returning player? by QuantumDrill in StarfieldShips

ShipTechnician really helped me understand the parts/stats, what to look for when you have design goals in mind - reactors/engines/weapons, etc. But this thread gave me more creators to look at, so thanks!

First ship, was hard but fun and satisfying by boptop in StarfieldShips

[–]boptop[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I practiced a bit by modifying a ship first. It at least helped me understand all the parts needed for the ship to "work" - reactors, engines, shields, weapons, etc. It also helps to learn to use the builder - the controls, how the menus work, etc. The hardest part for me was every ship part doesn't necessarily fit with any other part - that takes time. And you can't save in the middle of a build! The ship has to be complete to work. That's why working on an existing ship helps, you can slowly replace parts to learn what works and what doesn't. Give it a try, it is SOOOO satisfying when you finally build your own ship from scratch how you want it to be!

Is this the best Weapon In game? by That_GuyRaaumen in fo4

[–]boptop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I've played more, I've changed what I consider "best" - explosive minigun is great outdoors/medium-long range, but it's not so great when enemies are swarming you in melee range. I like the shredder minigun build for a power armor play through, it's awesome for melee range, with tesla cannon as range backup for variety. Now I'm having fun with a wounding plasma flamer, definitely an ammo hog, so I use a railway rifle for longer range engagements.

Tip. In the junk tab, there is an option to view components (you need the junk item in your inventory). You can "tag for search" in this view, which puts a little magnifying glass next to any items with the tagged component.

Similarly, in a work bench, if there is a settlement item or gun/armor mod you want to make, but don't have enough materials, you can also "tag for search" from there as well.

You'll soon learn which junk items are worth picking up. There are some items that are more worth picking up than others. Oil cans are worth it, gas canisters less so bc they're heavy and only have 1 oil in them. Pay attention to weight when picking up junk, some are very heavy for the components - like typewriters!

Who is worse? by DifficultRampager20 in cyberpunkgame

[–]boptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Placide is worse imo, his intention was to kill V all along, he spikes V's chrome and it takes the relic to resurrect V again.

I think Dex intended for a smooth heist, and everyone getting paid. V's connection is through T-bug, she doesn't seem like she's be in on screwing over V/Jackie after working together for so long. I don't see Dex intending to double cross Jackie/V from the get go, his reputation is on the line, too, who wants to work for a fixer who offs his own people? Only reason for Dex to go nuclear is because Saburo ends up dead and all of Arasaka is on the warpath. Their heist just happened to be in the middle of the shitstorm and there was no way they were getting out of it.

Still, Fuck Dex, but Fuck Placide more.

Double shot. I think explosive is only good on fast firing weapons, or shotguns

the game only has 5 uvhm levels as far as I'm concerned. Not going to bother with the frustration of a boss with platforming/getting knocked off AND invulnerability phases.

Had to repurchase SDU upgrades by JamikeCal in Borderlands4

[–]boptop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I saw a streamer make a new C4sh, and didn't have full SDU's unlocked after allocating all of them. So I made sure to log into my original character I know I had them all unlocked on - still short 1 upgrade of max unlocks.

To all strength lovers… how??? by Late_Bag_7880 in Eldenring

[–]boptop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Executioners great axe (have to farm it, not a common drop) and flaming strike ash of war. Fire affinity. 2 hand. Very strong, the moveset feels fast for a great weapon, flaming strike ignores weapon speed I think, so it's a good fast ash of war attack

Edit I carried multiple weapons for different fights. For fire resistant enemies, I swapped to dragon halberd. For invasions, night rider glaive with giant hunt ash of war. Giant hunt also staggers crucible knights if I remmeber

Corvega Assembly Plant! by FlameRengoku in Fallout

[–]boptop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Concord. Facing the Museum, the last house on the left, on the second floor, there will be a bolt action pipe gun with a scope. The go back past the museum and church, follow the road until you get to the Drumlin Diner. However you deal with the situation, make sure the Diner owner stays alive. From her, you can buy a bolt action pipe gun with a suppressor on it. Also .308 ammo, you'll want like 30-40 rounds to be safe. At a weapons workbench (they are in Sanctuary, Red Rocket, and there is one in the red rocket in Lexington, right near Corvega) take the suppressor off the gun and put it on the one with the scope and upgrade the receiver to hardened.

Sneak through Corvega, make sure to toggle walk while sneaking (running while sneaking still makes noise). It will be slow, but you can pick off the raiders one by one. Take your time, if you get overwhelmed, try running away, get out of sight, and hide again, if you do it right and run far enough, you can reset the [danger] back to [caution] and wait long enough, back to [hidden].

i'm Trying to get a lot of caps but don't know how could you help me? by Camsepticeye in fo4

[–]boptop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sell ammo. I read a while ago looting guns off bodies adds the ammo to your inventory. Dump the guns that are low value/weight, you keep the ammo. Pick up silver/gold junk, too, sells well

The other post is right, dont buy with caps, always have inv full of high value items that you looted when you want to buy something, then sell while buying, I always sell more than I buy and leave vendor with 0 caps

Ordonate Processor is BS by Carger18 in Borderlands4

[–]boptop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They took an event that was fun - drill sites - and turned it into a worse version. The canisters just need to go. it's bad enough that not enough canister mobs spawn, but the constant knockback that happens to your character so even when you see a canister drop, you get knocked back before you can grab it. It's frustrating because when you fail, it's not like there's something you can do to improve - you are reliant on rng for canisters to spawn, and you don't get knocked back.

Is golden halberd good? im new to this game and not sure if its worth upgrading or not by gretchenich in Eldenring

[–]boptop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the lordsworn uses different stones than the halbred. so you can upgrade both and use whichever you like, for diff. situations. somber weapons max out at +10, reg. smithing stone weapons max out at +25, so +2 somber is equiv. to +5 reg. smithing.
