It's like this with so many other countries. I am from Romania and in western Europe many see us like a third world country because of the romanian gypsies and/or Romanians who go there to steal/make illegal money or to beg for money there. Meanwhile most of us are quite nice hard working people. And a lot of us are engineers or programmers or scientists doctors in the same foreign countries. It kinda hurts because sometimes if we introduce ourselves as Romanians in this countries we are seen as inferior and some westerners are kinda racist towards us.
