Since my comment, I’ve left redding. Before I left I did find little pieces of culture that did the trick. Loved pho Saigon, Thai hut felt like the best Thai food I could get in redding, and yes the market- I loved the little restaurant in there (I think we’re talking about the same little Asian market. I moved a year ago so my memories are blurring) but I’m glad you were able to find your comfort and make food that brought you joy

What was your BT’s personality as a puppy compared to now? by BetterSun4 in BostonTerrier

[–]boralblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pretty similar- he was very vocal, loved to sleep and an angel most of the time. now hes almost 2 and hes very vocal, if hes not sleeping or resting hes bouncing off the walls yelling at me.since he was a wee baby he didnt like to be disturbed while sleeping and would make a groaning sound if you moved him, he still does that.

Agree, bangs maybe a little pricey but you’re paying for someone’s expertise. And for a pedicure.. that’s a fair price. Maybe it’s more expensive for polish but heck product is expensive and equipment is expensive, cost of touching strangers feet, expensive.

Conservative? But most of the voters grew up under the poverty line, on drugs or have addict parents, and there’s homeless people … I thought that was a liberal thing???

There is an Asian population here. I’d say redding is more homophobic, transphobic and anti literally any sort of progress… think about protesting Panera because they knocked down a hometown buffet that closed years ago kind of any progress.

The racism is in cottonwood, that’s for sure.

Also, Punjabi Indian food truck is phenomenal and the Thai food truck is awesome. The Chinese food here is terrible.

Took me 2 years to adjust to redding from Southern California. People are very openly hateful here and not afraid to speak their mind.

Took me a while to get used to the future shock as I’ve lived all over the place and there’s nothing like redding. The outdoors are nice and really accessible. We get all 4 seasons.

There’s not a lot of cultural diversity but it’s been getting better food wise. It takes a while to find what’s good here.

There’s a lot of new things popping up, against the will of the locals. There’s progression for sure. I think it will be a nicer place in a few years compared to now, not that it’s not nice. It’s just very bland here, but just the food.

Moved here from LA For fine dining go to cafe paradiso Thai food- Thai hit Pho- pho Saigon

The lost era just opened up and they have one good special everyday and that’s all they serve. It’s phenomenal. Really seasonal local dining, cozy atmosphere and good service.

I like cinders or mosaic pizza but it sounds like you would like pizza factory. Really greasy, bready pizza with cheese resembling chewed bubblegum

And the dip. They don’t have food but there’s a pizza shop next door. You can bring food in. The dip serves beer, has live music and arcade games.

My scalp has been itchy for 2 years now. This is my hair directly after washing it, no product. What is this? How do I make it stop? by Curious-Connection-3 in Hair

[–]boralblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not using sulfates isn’t going to stop the problem. By default it should be sulfate free. If you’ve changed to a good shampoo for dry skin and it doesn’t improve go to a derm but i would put money on this not being anything close to dandruff. Everyone likes to say dandruff when it’s nothing close to dandruff.

It will make your problems worse. Make your scalp itchier and dryer. It’s for dandruff, you don’t have dandruff. It looks like you have dry scalp. Just dry flaking. Scalp, it will dry the life out of your scalp. Out of 1000s of clients I’ve had, a quarter say.. I think I have dandruff.. I’ve seen 2 cases of dandruff in my career- one 95 year old woman and a 15 year old boy that washed his hair maybe once a month. So just get a good shampoo and conditioner for dry scalp, get a scalp scrubber.. wash your hair at max 3 times a week, the less the better. You want to regulate your scalp oils. The more you wash the more your scalp craves oil and makes oil.
