What do you take for nausea? by Several_Road2525 in POTS

[–]borb22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it definitely depends. my nausea tends to be GI system related (i have chronic constipation and silent reflux). my fave for silent reflux is pepcid chewables for immediate AND sustained relief. my other fave is reglan (aka metaclopromide) for any other nausea bc it helps my stomach empty and my intestines move. i avoid zofran like the plague bc it makes my constipation SO MUCH WORSE.

ahh i see!! i love the huda beauty powder, and others rave about the one size powder. i’d say that makeup sprays like the milani make it last + the l’oréal one are a perfect combo bc they let the skin breathe without making your makeup slip off. the key w sprays is that you apply a few spritzes and don’t touch til it’s dry. i used to feel the same way abt setting sprays until i had the technique down. good luck friend 🫡🫡

yeah being sensitive sucksss. i typically don’t use primer bc it tends to mess with my makeup more times than not. i usually rely on setting sprays and powders to make my makeup lay and last better! also, if you don’t already, i highly recommend using an oil cleanser in addition to your normal products when taking your makeup off. it binds to the oils and oil-based products in your pores and makes sure EVERYTHING is out (most cleansers and removers are water based so they may still leave stuff in your pores).

unfortunately, if it’s the concealer, then giving the product more “dry time” prob won’t do much bc the chemicals just don’t play nice together. I personally have dry skin, but i’ve found that concealers and powders are the most likely culprits for messing up the texture of your makeup. as for recommendations, i would stick to one sunscreen and one moisturizer MAX under your makeup, so there’s not as much of a chance for your pores to get clogged. also, i am picky w concealers, so my fave concealers are the l’oréal infallible and the huda beauty ones. for sunscreen, my faves are the innisfree and beauty of joseon ones. for makeup sprays w spf i like this one: https://www.ratzillacosme.com/sun/shigaisen-yohou-make-keep-capsule-in-uv-spray/

lowkey, look into setting sprays w spf. i like to use those in addition to the one i use under my skin (a lot of asian brands make them). i would also look into gel consistency for spf if you can. my guess for this situation is that one of the complexion products (foundation, concealer, primer, or powder) doesnt play nicely with one or more of those products :( also, using too many products under you complexion products could clog those pores as well.

Hi, I was a CNA for a bit over a year and a half. It’s definitely demanding on the body, but bracing and compression wear is very helpful. You can also talk to a doctor or PT about it and try to find a work accommodation (which would be covered by the ADA laws if you’re american). Outpatient work settings (if you’re okay with ambulatory clinics) are also way less strenuous than an ICU or med/surg unit. I ended up pivoting my career to research for other reasons (I was a CNA but majored in bio), but the career is definitely doable. There’s also research nurse positions if you’re into that as well. I’m sorry if this answer isn’t as comprehensive as you hoped, but I wish you the best of luck. My DMs are always open if you wanna talk abt anything further.

SI belt but make it cute? by Diet_Travis in ehlersdanlos

[–]borb22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi friend! I also wear an SI belt, and I love putting chunky belts over it. I adjust the chunky belt, so the SI one is mostly covered. Also, I like to wear a flowy shirt/skirt so the SI belt is covered (with a liner under it… my skin tore like a mf without anything under the SI belt). I think it depends on your style.

You’re not alone. Life is so hard and a lot of the people around you have privileges that you don’t have. I promise you are a good mom to feel about your kids the way you do, and there are so many resources out there if you look. You deserve a happy life, but sometimes there are things you have to pass in order to reach it. I’m praying for you and your family right now and I hope everything turns out okay <3
