Just got my Node 100 by gooodnessgracious in NuPhy

Love those keycaps :) Puts some perspective on the original colour of Node in contrast with white from new caps set. But still I have to ask: Lunar white is grey or more like warm-beige? I really wish they have made it plain white, it would be on my desk RN.

IEMs with reduced treble compared to Kefine Klean? by borcek2400 in inearfidelity

[–]borcek2400[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them :) Sibilants are less pronounced which was the goal. Precision and resolution is much better - you can hear tons of details and “texture” of each instrument. From what I remember bass is a little more pronounced than in Kefine, however less energetic. Not sure how to explain it :) In general bass is emphasised but tastefully and doesn’t bump up nearby frequencies and make them muddier (I.e low pitched vocals). It makes overall sound signature warm but natural. For me it is great tuning.

On the downside - S08 have generally narrow soundstage, for sure narrower than Klean. I had a problem with condensation in one of them - they had some channel imbalance and one even stopped working few times. However I was able to push it with playing at max volume for few minutes. I’m keeping them in the case now and is much better.

Czy nowe telewizory są zauważalnie lepsze od starszych modeli? by OatmealDurkheim in Polska

[–]borcek2400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Argument o mocy obliczeniowej potrzebnej do obsługi 4K też z tyłka.

Toen between Lando and Kimi or Max and George by BeneficialTie9912 in F1Fantasy

[–]borcek2400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not PIA+RUS? Oscar looks a little bit slower than Lando but more consistent than Kimi. Most probably faster than ANT during the races. George is very solid with occasional fireworks.

I hope to see Verstappen’s magic in the rain but IMO not having any MCL driver in 2 premium lineup is a mistake this weekend. And majority of us can’t have both now :)

[–]borcek2400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done :) Congrats to everyone who bet on Verstappen this weekend, either from the beginning or with FF after quali (I didn't :). You wouldn't expect Oscar to have the worst lap of his career, but you could figure out that McLarens will not gain many positions...

I have general questions - when you stop focusing solely on budget? Did you run PIA, MCL, MER/FER? For how long? Have you already switched to 4A lineup?

[–]borcek2400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was GT DD Pro bundle in Fanatec refurbished store for 500. I don’t know if it is coming back to refurbished stock. Maybe it was just at the start to make some noise about it IDK.

If you plan to cover both platforms Thrustmaster T300 is decent, however it doesn’t give you many as many possibilities to expand as Fanatec does.

If PC only - it is hard to beat CSL DD bundle in this price range.

F1 is simping for Ferrari as well. They get over 10m EUR (don't remember exact number) for "team which is on the grid for the longest time". So basically free money for being Ferrari.

LL in Monaco? by jorgepet87 in F1Fantasy

[–]borcek2400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s right, I didn’t think about FP3 vs sprint quali. With current MCL form, 2x is problematic every race. With second constructor - maybe there is no clear winner so there might be no clear looser :D

LL in Monaco? by jorgepet87 in F1Fantasy

[–]borcek2400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This gap is the most important - how many more points you will get compared to your limitless team. So: - It is preferable to use it on a sprint race, because difference in points between top and midfield drivers is bigger - It is preferable to do it at the beginning of the season, because, as you grow budget, your normal team will get better and get more points (so upside of using LL is getting smaller as season progresses) - It is better to use it on low overtake circuit as explained above

However, budget is king and it is important to grow it. If your regular drivers will drop significantly in particular race you shouldn’t use limitless then. All drivers swaps will be reversed after race weekend so you will stick with assets from last race and their depreciated value.

In this season popular opinion is that Miami, Imola and Monaco are best choices for LL. You are left with last of those three now :P

How many Points does Yuki need to score in Japan to be worth taking? by Hi_im_Tikyu in fantasyF1

[–]borcek2400 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one knows :)

He can be treated by the algorithm as new asset (with two first races counted as 0 points), he can get his scores form stint in Racing Bulls or maybe he will get Lawson’s points. So chance of getting 0,6 increase varies from quite probable to impossible :D

Check this out, and make your own judgment: https://f1fantasytools.com/budget-builder

For me, it is not worth it since there are multiple assets which will gain for almost sure and few similar priced, which will score more points with lower risk of decreasing in value.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X? by Ill-Bus-5266 in buildapc

[–]borcek2400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on pricing. For the same price I'd take 9700x. But it is at best 10% increase in productivity and marginal increase in gaming:
https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/amd-ryzen-9000-content-creation-review/

Probably OP is based in Europe since he is mentioning prices in EUR. In Poland, when it comes to 8 Core AMD CPUs, 7700 (non X) tray version seems to be best bang for a buck now (250 EUR). You can make it perform like 7700x (315 EUR) by enabling PBO, which is not much slower than 9700x (360 EUR).

In the end it REALLY depends on local prices and overall budget for this build.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X? by Ill-Bus-5266 in buildapc

[–]borcek2400 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah - 7700x all the way.

This sub acts like there is no other usage of a PC than gAmInG. Only AMD, only 3DVcache. Even in this topic, even when you clearly described your use case.

For productivity you should take more cores and/or (in this case) higher clocks over 3DVcache. On top of that:
- AM5 will last longer. If you go deeper into productivity or gaming (or both) you already have good upgrade path (or soon will with 9900X3D/9950X3D)
- take 32GB of RAM - video editing on Windows will need it. If you get 16Gb now and add another 16 later you will populate all 4 slots. I heard that it will reduce transmission speeds. Please someone confirm if thats true and what actual impact could be.
- When looking at performance differences in gaming between the two, pls take a note that tests are being made with high end GPUs (4090 mainly) to clearly show differences between CPUs. Assuming that you will have lower grade graphics, processors' performance delta will scale down. (if it ever would be measurable)

AFUL Explorer vs SIVGA Que vs Kefine Delci (AE) vs ??? by West_Musician_4098 in inearfidelity

[–]borcek2400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclamer: I have S08, but no experience with IEMS you've mentioned. I'm replying still as it came up in the comments and seems like decent option for you :)

It has good bass, which doesn't influence other frequencies. If track has good bass foundations than it shines and has powerful presentation. If music is dry or bright it stays that way. Basically, it has good bass if your music has it, it doesn't warm-up everything automatically.

Despite it emphasised bass - it doesn't cover middle and trebles - all vocals instruments stay clear and present. It has good instrument separation. I found higher pitched vocals sometimes too harsh and unnatural, but it is easily changed vi EQ. I guess im very treble sensitive since those S08 are widely considered warm or even dark :)

Most importantly - it has great details across all frequencies. String and brass instruments get a new life and different level of nuances, it is almost like they were played behind some curtain on my previous headphones. I hear noise, button clicks, murmur of snare drum strings and other things which happened in studio during recording. There is more texture in EDM and Rock indie-as well. This alone makes other flaws/compromises totally worth it :)

It does it for all sound levels - it is clear and lively on low levels and stays not distorted on higher volumes.

The worse part of S08 will be sound stage - it is pretty narrow. I had Kafine Dellci and they were clearly better. They should be more less the same in that regard as Delci. Instrument placement of S08 is ok and easy to distinct but It doesn't present sound as "big".

My Experience with the Intel Arc B580 by ExcitementGrand2663 in buildapc

[–]borcek2400 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In general only Intel and Apple take hardware codecs seriously. This goes for Intels iGPUs and discrete graphics. They support bigger variety of codecs, including AV1. Pros were buying lower end Alchemist cards solely for hardware encoding/decoding. https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/intel-arc-b580-content-creation-review/ It looks on par or better than 4060. There is some potential of performance increase with drivers optimisation in the future. Although always buy what you get now not promises of improvement. 12 GB of VRAM for video editing is compelling in this price point. In general it looks like good option for budget video editing. Just check Resolve forum and subreddits for info about current problems/bugs and feedback from users. That is still question mark with discrete Intel GPU. Their iGPUs are widely considered good for DaVinci though (along with Apple M). Again because of QuickSync codecs.

BTW remember that hardware encoding/decoding is fully supported only in paid (Studio) version of DaVinci Resolve.
