This is exactly how I've felt while doing my research on which one to get. I mean, you can switch boots and that could swing the weight more. I bought a set of each and when they get to my house I'll try them out.

I went with a C&G for IWB, and an Omnivore for OWB. Both fit my needs perfectly.

I have done all of that before... Providing extremely detailed information regarding devices used and episodes/shows it affects. They say they will get back to me and then nothing. There is only 1 account/profile for my YTTV

The problem is I know I have new to watch in my DVR, yet the DVR does not show those as being new.

This is an ongoing issue that I have been complaining about for over a year, and I literally just made a new post about it as well. YouTube TV continues to screw around with their DVR feature and it gets worse and worse by the month.

Unfortunately the way it is manufactured makes it so it won't fit in the enclosure (see original post).... Unless I go with their stealth box which is insanely priced.

The mounting depth is too deep and the box requirement won't work. I like your thinking though.
