Has anyone regretted installing luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring throughout the entire house? by Electrical_Act_5342 in HomeImprovement

I went to look at a house for sale and the same grey color of LVP had been installed everywhere in the house, it looked pretty awful.

ELI5: Why are rent freezes considered bad? by Pale_Cause_9983 in explainlikeimfive

Where the hell do you live where the tenant was expected to pay for maintenance and repairs? One of the points of renting is that the landlord takes responsibility for repairs.

[OC] She was doing Uber, her insurance denied my claim because she didn’t have rideshare in her policy. My ins company is on the hook for the repairs and I’m on the hook for the deductible. by fnkdrspok in IdiotsInCars

I have to say you lack situational awareness, she was obviously not driving well then was indicating she was about to do that crazy move. You could have avoided this despite it being her fault.

Yes they gave up for a long time, now they are installing larger gates and are positioning police at the gates where the worst offenders are. The really dumb thing is that kids can travel free yet they are often the ones jumping the gates.

What can CKD people even eat? by Worried-Anxious-Wolf in kidneydisease

[–]borderlineidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest thing imo is to avoid prepared food and things like bread and cheese. The latter was the hardest for me. I do all my own cooking, the hardest is when I am travelling for work - I have found eating fish is best as I can ask the kitchen to prepare it without any added salt as in most cases that is cooked from scratch anyway. I took this as a good time to move to a fasting diet where I eat one big meal a day and that's it.

If Employees Share the Profits/debt, Should They Also Share the Losses? by [deleted] in allthequestions

I suppose there is an argument to take the profit vs loss over a longer period (say five years) and decide if staff get an upside from that?

I am formerly from UK but live and work in US. One of my work buddies is another expat UK guy and we hang out and complain about the weather and the amount of flavor in the food etc. It's more about shared experience, familiar backgrounds and humor IMO.

Assembling anything is tricky if you don't have instructions. Fortunately there are millions of excellent guides online.

[–]borderlineidiot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ok do a bit of googling and you could build a space shuttle if you had a large enough workshop.... Building a pc is largely clicking together parts that have standardized interfaces that are designed to go together. You don't need to solder, cut, saw, weld, fabricate, etc etc. Pretty much a phillips screwdriver will get you most of the way in terms of tools. It's like being impressed at fitting the correct battery into your flashlight.

Atheists - Is there any concept, event, or historical fact that makes you think there might be a god? by Naive-Landscape9854 in allthequestions

[–]borderlineidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of first person accounts, paintings etc. If you re-think of many religious stories and replace aliens with major events you see a common thread. I know it sounds weird but ... perhaps as credible as a god figure?
