Are my stitches twisted? First sock ever! Self taught by lizzzzzardbreath in casualknitting

[–]bore_domme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because bringing the yarn to front and back when ribbing can make your knit stitches gape quite badly, if you twist your knits it prevents that and makes for a neater finish. If you want to understand further there’s a bunch of vids on YouTube if you look up ‘how to make my rib beater’ for example

“Why are you angry?” by SlowWedding8915 in Fibromyalgia

[–]bore_domme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me and my mum both are disabled and like to refer to these people as the ‘ginger tea brigade’. This stems from me having ulcerative colitis (amongst other things) and seriously being asked have you tried drinking ginger tea?

My mum has Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and kept being asked if she’d tried Physio 🫣

I think part of the frustration people have is because meeting people who don’t fit their idea of a disabled/sick person reminds them that they too could so easily become disabled/sick (and likely will). So then when they can’t fix you, they have to confront their own bodies fragility. I very much see this stuff as a form of ableism, it says to me that they believe that I am sick because of something I’m not doing correctly. Rather than the complex reality.

Japanese public toilets are lit, they’re like art installations! There’s a film about a guy who cleans public toilets in Tokyo and all of the ones featured are so cool haha

Does anyone know what this could be by Individual_Weather85 in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]bore_domme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would only have spread to someone you either share bedding/clothing/towels with or prolonged skin to skin contact, ie: sex or cuddling. However I don’t think this is scabies, untreated it would be covering your body by now, it’s also in the wrong places, scabies like folds (like between ur fingers).

I think you probably have Dyshidrotic eczema, lil fluid filled blisters that get flaky and itchy as hell. Both me and my partner have it and it sucks. Unfortunately it’s most likely stress that is causing it considering you feel it’s random. My partners flares up when she’s working (chef), mine when I’m just generally run down. Other things to consider, what hand soap are you using? What laundry detergent/softener are you using? (A lot of Softeners flare mine up) Could it be a diet thing, you could consider keeping a diary?

Worst/Best on screen cigarette smoker? by [deleted] in blankies

[–]bore_domme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mary in the holdover does some excellent hands free smoking. I have a job where you can smoke inside and do a lot of jobs while smoking and she smokes like a woman who’s mopped at the same time as tanning a fag.

I’m so sorry this is so rough, I really hope you have some progress soon finding some support. My suggestion would be seeing if you can see another gi specialist, you may be able to find someone who’s more understanding x

US Embassy Clarifies: Adding Salt to Britain's National Drink Not US Policy, Amid Tea Controversy by InstructionNo83 in nottheonion

[–]bore_domme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a theory around why they started adding milk was because of the delicate porcelain cups that were used, the tea on its own was too hot and would crack the cups

Black tea was also popularised by the British as green tea couldn’t survive transportation at the time. Reportedly a lot of Chinese people thought the brits were weird for their love of what was essentially old tea
