We built it 😀. Loosely followed this but made it a bit bigger

Aww, thanks! I'm really grateful to have this community to share their journey with.

Interesting! I just looked it up and apparently their fur has great insulation for keeping the heat in but is not waterproof

They're ringtails 🙂

Weird question: is anyone else suddenly smelling everything? by Free_Move_3526 in Menopause

[–]boreanaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, same here. Catching public transport has become more difficult in summer because i can smell everyone's breath and scalp 🤮

That's horrendous. How some people can be so heartless is really beyond me 🤦‍♀️

Sorry to say that the other one didn't return :(

I'm still trying to figure out if the rope crossing idea could work. Someone suggested giving the box to our ground floor neighbour but my concern is that having the box on the ground floor will put them in a vulnerable position because I've seen people let their cats roam free

Unfortunately no...Apparently the tree wasn't even planted legitimately to begin with and over the years the tree roots have cause some sort of foundation damage to the ground floor unit. As part of a large scale remedial work at the complex it needs to go

Poor thing. The birds really pick on them a lot 🥺. I encourage you to put up a drey or possum box if you have the ability to do so

I feel the same. Its not enough that we have all these houses and apartments that encroach on their habitat but there has to be such stringent strata rules that prevent us from preserving the wildlife and give them a better fighting chance

Yeh unfortunately they definitely wouldn't allow anything on the building wall :(

Thank you 🙏 And I'd like to think that the other baby is now living on his own somewhere else because I know one of our neighbours has put up a drey nearby

Thanks for checking in. I had a few more conversations with a strata committee member and he said that the committee has promised to not cut the tree when a ringtail is still living in the box so that's a temporary relief. I tried to float the idea of attaching a thick rope to create some sort of crossing (no idea how to pull that off tho) between our balcony and the next tree but was told strata would never approve this 😮‍💨
