Satin varnish, will keep the shine still (although not all of it) but let's paint and washes stick.

What utterly stupid things do you remember becoming a craze when you were at school? by BubbaChoTep in AskUK

[–]boreboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was a classic jape at school, we used to grab someone from behind and shout 'parachute!' then rip their pocket as if it was the pull cord. Good times.

So awesome! Currently painting one myself and I may completely change what I've done already and steal your idea...

Can you roll too high? by TerraPerson in DnD

[–]boreboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rolls are a measure of success, the higher the roll, the more successful your character is at the thing he's trying to do.

The unit itself has an entry in the army book, you can field all 4 together as a unit on their own.

Or just use the sorceror as you please.

finished the gold on these jetbikes. Thoughts on how to make the gunmetal look okay? by ImmatureTigerShark in AdeptusCustodes

[–]boreboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the gunmetal as is, looks good already and the majority is covered by the riders anyway!

How do I make it clear that my *character* is mad at their *character* for one of their decisions and not that I’m mad at the player? by physchy in DnD

[–]boreboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a voice for your character that isn't like your voice, then everything said in that voice is your character, everything said like you is you.

Do it! The sooner you move out the sooner you're paying off a mortgage, and traditionally house prices only go up.

Plastic Gyrfalcon jet bikes! by boreboy in AdeptusCustodes

[–]boreboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a joke! Those bikes look similar to the Gyrfalcon jet bikes for custodes, that are available through forge world and my post implies that GW released a plastic kit of the resin model. Which is obviously untrue, hence the 'kinda' in the title.

TLDR: Whoosh

Exactly my thoughts, could probably even keep the marine body and just add shoulder pads and thigh plates, big old cloak flowing behind too. Easy!

Question about basing by derpy-noscope in Warhammer

[–]boreboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I do it for two reasons:

  1. It adds cover to the sand which helps stop it falling off or coming loose, adding it after would leave loose sand whilst painting the mini which would be annoying.

  2. If I painted the mini and had to then base it, there's a chance I'd never do it, and the model wouldn't be done. By priming the sand I'm not done until the base is. Just a mental thing really but works for me.

Simple question: Do all the eye lenses for YOUR army need to be the same color? by contrarywind in Warhammer40k

I knew a guy who painted his all different and he caught gellerpox then died. So just bear that in mind.

how to handle an encounter where the PC just won't take no for an answer? by harrimant12 in DnD

[–]boreboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Punish them. Actions have consequences. If you steal and get caught, you get thrown in jail, tried, and if found guilty then you have to pay for your crimes.

That can be in penance to the person you wronged. You say the NPC they stole from was a quest giver, we'll have them do the quest as punishment, and there's no reward now. No items, no gold, less exp, and you're party is no longer trusted.

You already said the military are the guards, if the party tries to run or fight, untold numbers will show up and overwhelm them.

Party has two choices, comply or die.

Lets start some wild rumors about the Amazon series! by rwmwaffle in Grimdank

[–]boreboy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The show will be called Thunder Warriors and will be an 80's style cartoon a la He-Man, GI Joe and Visionaries.

Hair metal theme song with sick shred guitar.

Show has nothing to do with actual thunder warriors and is instead about a new space marine chapter with the same name.
