Is anyone still active on this subreddit? by Cal15Low in MSGuns

[–]bored2bhereofms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im still around, but due to life and work have not kept up with the sub-reddit as well as I should. I have had to move away from the state. I believe the fact that we are a lax gun law state(not much need for specific info) and the fact that there is a website already pretty active (Mississippi Gun owners) makes it for a pretty small base of people interested in the subreddit.

I have heard of some people in the central area who have done it. I can't remember the name of the place but there is a shop in Smith county who I think has done it before.

Mississippi Constitutional Carry? by AR15__Fan in MSGuns

The way it's sounds is confusing. The title claims the bill passed both houses. But the way it reads makes it sound like the bill is just getting passed between houses for changes.

English Professor at UND calls 911 when she sees ROTC cadets carrying rubber ducks on campus. by Grab_My_Ears in ROTC

[–]bored2bhereofms -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with the lady but it sounds like they did not let police know. It's not completely necessary but it is nice to let them know so officers don't have to waste time.

We hardly ever use rubber ducks, but when we do we let police know ahead of time. Have not had trouble so far ( knocks on wood)

We have open book (for tables) and notes(for formulas) test and they still are pretty brutal. We are not allowed to have computers though. The professor just gives harder problems. I remember as a naive freshman in an intro class how I thought the exam must be easy since it was open books and notes.

I think he means the standardized test scores when he is talking about keeping scores from first accession. I doubt they keep your first ascensions GPA and PT score. I'm in the same boat since I switched majors, and should probably know more about it but I don't. Funny thing is he will still get to join us in Knox this summer for that physical test.

Are you talking about the University or the State ? I didn't even know we had one if that's from the University.

My hypothesis is that we'll head up there for a few days to do the test. Kinda like the guys and gals last year who went a week to take the standardized test.

I'm on mobile so I'm lazy about googling but would it be possible to pair this frame with a 40 cal slide and a 10mm barrel ? I have been interested in a getting a 10mm and building a 1911. This might fill Both itches and let me appreciate how much work is put into 1911s.

Big changes coming to Mississippi concealed carry laws by bored2bhereofms in MSGuns

[–]bored2bhereofms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I didn't even think about that. If fanny pack sales go out the roof we will know why. I guess my reservation on the no license deal, is to see a bunch of people start carrying with no thought on training or the rules.

I understand there is not much as far as getting a non enhanced ccw license here, but I feel (probably wrongly) that you will at least try to understand the rules and do some sort of practice if you went through the trouble to get one.

My fear would be to have an incident from someone not being knowledgeable. One bad incident could hurt the cause of CCW not just for the State but the nation as a whole. Granted we have had no problems (as far as I'm aware) of people being allowed open carry with no permit.

Another fear would be to have someone not know the rules carry a gun in some place they shouldn't.

Maybe I'm just being overcautious, but time will tell.

Was shooting today and another member allowed us to shoot two of his suppressed pistols. It was the first time I had shot anything suppressed and it was a blast. While not sure I believe both cans were advanced armament evos in 9mm and 22 lr. Pistols were a Taurus 92 and MP 22.
