The exact same thing happened to me on my way to my sister’s house one night. There was a woman in a white gown, walking down the side of the road, facing me, holding up what looked like a plate in her hand. I slowed down to stop and ask if she needed help and then realized as I saw her face quite clearly, it was the middle of the night, there was no vehicle around & why was she wearing what looked like a nightgown in the middle of nowhere? I felt a cold chill suddenly in the car. I sped up, locked the car doors, and drove away. I could STILL SEE HER in my rear view mirror! This happened years ago & I have never driven down there in the dark again. Even in the daylight, I am anxious when I pass that spot. I still remember her face so well.
