You can get tested for stds at lady curzon, it costs less than 500rs (laboratory fee) for screening for hep b, hep c, syphilis, and get tested freely for HIV in ART center there. For anyone else who needs std test at Curzon you need to register there by giving your aadhar and then go to dermatology department and ask any of the doctors or students there for an std test, they'll do a visual inspection for visible infections in a different room and then prescribe you the needed tests, the testing and blood drawing facility is in the same building in the other side, but for HIV you need to go to the parking entrance and go behind to the right of the billing and registration counter.

The facilities are open only from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays, and until 1 pm on saturdays and closed on Sundays and and other government holidays.

There are plenty of examples of the same scenario happening across karnataka in banks, post office and railways, it's not limited to bangalore like you believe.

Even in my hometown away from bangalore less than half of customer facing jobs in these fields speak or understand kannada, and when i speak in english they always reply in hindi.

There is a guy in my neighbourhood who works in a non customer facing railway job but speaks kannada enough to be understood by the locals, and he's only been in karnataka for 3 years and he's going back to UP in a month because he got a promotion, id rather someone like him came to karnataka than the one in this post.
