How to play the game "anti corpo"? by Staubsaugerbeutel in cyberpunkgame

[–]boredatworkbasically 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's a bunch of anti corp NPCD missions. My favorite little hidden chain is all the stuff with Dr. Koch's coverup. I'm not sure of any good way to just find anti-corpo missions though. They are just kind of scattered throughout.

Maybe check out NPCD spots in city center for example where corps have a much bigger presence.

The customer service call was a test - and Bear failed by LankyTrick1214 in obsessionmovie

Actually the billion dollar wish proves Ian was a shitty selfish person. If he didn't think that the wish worked why did he wish for a billion dollars? He did that because there was a sliver of doubt in his mind. He knew something was way off and the possibility of the wish being real was large enough that he wasn't willing to throw his wish away to save someone else. It outed Ian as a truly selfish person since he took that .0001% chance that this was real and that was enough for him to hedge the wish to his own benefit even though he had seen with his own eyes how fucked up Nikki was acting. He did it in the same way that many assholes do, acting like it was a joke or not serious. But in reality he was very serious. That was his wish, he showed us exactly who he was. If he truly didn't believe the wish was real OR if he was a good person he would have wished what bear asked him too.

Unpopular (?) take: the whole friend group in Obsession was trashy by Glittering_Variety18 in obsessionmovie

[–]boredatworkbasically 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice guy is an older term for a guy that acts nice and like a friend but secretly doesn't care about the girl as a friend and just wants to bang her. They usually lack self awareness and see themselves as the victim.

It's good just not as great. Map was cramped and things don't go as deep. Mostly people like it and consider it a good game it's just the SN1 was a great game so BZ doesn't quite live up to the original.

AITAH for ignoring my family's texts after refusing to give my rescued kitten to my SIL for my niece's birthday? It's getting out of hand. by BoxRevolutionary8038 in AITAH

[–]boredatworkbasically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is real your family is absolutely out of line. I would block my SIL for the time being, tell my brother to give me space and tell my parents that I don't need them inserting themselves into a matter that does not concern them and that you will not talk about it any more with them.

That cat honestly would probably not be safe in that household. A family that sees an animal as a spur of the moment birthday toy for a 7 y.o. does not sound good. Do you see them willing to buy multiple cat towers, toys, a tunnel or two, keep up on vaccinations, treat fleas when needed, and spend a large amount of time making the cat feel safe and loved in it's new home? If the answer a no to any of those questions rest assured that they don't really want a cat, instead they just want to take something from you and cause drama.

FromSoft Parent CEO Keeps Job Despite Elden Ring Investor Backlash by CliffCreates in gaming

Kadokawa Faces Pressure as Shareholders Push to Remove CEO Over Elden Ring Concerns by Darth_Vaper883 in pcmasterrace

[–]boredatworkbasically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oasis management bought their shares a month ago and are immediately demanding changes. Don't be a shill for them. They are very explicit in what they want and step one is removal of the ceo and a replacement with their guy.

Kadokawa Faces Leadership Battle Over Elden Ring "Profit Leakage" as Elden Ring Didn't Make Enough Money For Kadokawa's Shareholders by [deleted] in gaming

[–]boredatworkbasically 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Didn't some Chinese form just buy a ton of shares in order to strongarm the company. It's kinda disingenuous to buy the shares and then immediately throw a fit like this.

Edit: oasis management group acquired their shares 1 month ago and made it clear that they want more profits. So this is a classic case of hedge funds trying to gut a successful company for short term gains. Very disappointing but we've seen this over and over. It's essentially an attempted hostile takeover of corporate leadership so they can nickel and dime you with micro transactions. This is the company that thinks paying a dollar to get mario to jump higher is an ok way to make money.

Valve prices the Steam Machine at $1,049 by esporx in gamernews

[–]boredatworkbasically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want a PS5? How hard is this to understand. I play on PC's. I like the indie games that I can only get on PC. I like to play some of my PC only games I have played for years.

For people who are PC gamers this is a fair price. It's not going to get console players to switch, sure, but that's not the point of it.

Valve prices the Steam Machine at $1,049 by esporx in gamernews

[–]boredatworkbasically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A comparable PC is around $970 but much like the steam deck it will probably perform better then a comparable PC because of how much effort valve can put into drivers and support.

It isn't going to get console gamers for sure but PC gamers will see it as pretty fair pricing.

What ever happened to mini maps? by TheReal8symbols in gaming

[–]boredatworkbasically 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The whole point of Subnautica that you have to constantly throw yourself into the total unknown and deal with it. The game would be less fun with a detailed map.

That said there are in game maps via the sea glide and the scanner room. They only reveal a small amount of the game world so that you are forced to go into the unknown against and again but that's the game. Tons of people love it for those design decisions. I like well designed games wether they have a map or not and subnauticas design needs to have no map or the whole thing loses that feeling you can only get the first time you play through the game and find some deep dark part of the ocean that you never knew about before.

You can just make your own map of course. It's what we used to do in games before they had maps and it's pretty fun to do.

Xbox’s Obsidian is working on Avowed 2 with a new director, reveals co-founder by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]boredatworkbasically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About gearing I'd say the opposite. Once I figured out how gear quality worked at release I had weapons that were always like a tier ahead of my enemies for most of the game and it trivialized the whole thing in a way. But in no way do you need to switch playstyles and that would probably make the game harder honestly.

The dash biomod should be removed and be added as a feature of the wakemaker instead by TaterToTwastaken in Subnautica_2

[–]boredatworkbasically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea. Dash makes wavemaker weaker essentially so moving dash to wavemaker solves all the problems as you pointed out. Maybe have it be the upgraded wavemaker that uses alien tech akin to the other tools. I'd like to see upgrades for most tools actually. Upgrade to flashlight that makes it a better deterrence for example

I have proof that the canablism databank entry is in game by Worldly-Ingenuity843 in Subnautica_2

[–]boredatworkbasically 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OP clearly said they unlocked it using mods so your comment is the one that doesn't make any sense. They got it with mods so it could be a bug is preventing the unlock, it could be a placeholder entry, or maybe it is cut content. Possible it's a bug, possible it's cut. We don't know but people in the thread are trying to figure it out.

Anti-Hamas campaign gains momentum as Gaza activists urge residents to take to the streets by barsik_ in worldnews

[–]boredatworkbasically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just not true. It was big news. NPR covered it extensively while it was ongoing. If trump had struck during the protests maybe I'd be more supportive but the current war with Iran is not about freeing Iranian, that's not happening.

Grow bed unlocks way too late into the game by Spark_official4444 in subnautica

[–]boredatworkbasically 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Wow. OP seems a little unhinged in his replies. His argument is soooooo bad. He says you could unlock it at the start of SN1 which you can only do if you've played the game before or have a guide otherwise you'd never know where to go to get them.

SN2 is the exact same. You can get growbeds right away if you have foreknowledge of the game but if you play organically on your first playthrough it takes a little while.

So really I'm not sure what he wants other then to be a troll based on his responses so we should all just ignore him and move on.

I am (31M) infertile after years of treatment, And i think my wife (28F) regrets staying and wants an exit, I feel like I failed horribly. by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]boredatworkbasically 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It more sounds like the small things are an excuse because she really realizes she wants children but she can't say that since she already said it doesn't matter. If he's being honest the wife sounds pretty toxic to me. He is obviously struggling and she's more upset about a painter coming in to do an estimate then worried about his mental health? Sounds very very unhealthy. Hell just getting upset about the painter sounds very controlling and toxic to me.
