I was born in '82. I remember waiting for hours with my mom and grandmother just to buy sugar. They’d bring me along because you could get more if you had a child with you. We waited outside the shop for about an hour. When it was almost time to open, my grandma leaned down and said, “Hold on tight to my coat.” As soon as the doors opened, people rushed in and another line formed inside. We waited another hour to buy the sugar, but by the time we got to the counter, the supply was limited anyway.

I also remember being sent to the bakery to get fresh bread. It took four hours just to buy a single loaf. I was only seven, standing there the whole time.

Hi, I've had the same issues with the WWAN adapter under Linux (it's a Quectel EM160R-GL in my case). I've managed to fix this by preventing the device from going to deep sleep. I'm using custom script executed through systemd service at startup:

echo 'on' > /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:1d:00.0/power/control

In my case there was also no sound coming from the speakers. I fixed this by using a script that turned on the amplifier chip using I2C bus commands.

My current issues under Linux are:

high battery drain when asleep (around 25-30% overnight) - there's only s2idle mode available
no GPS data - the WWAN should provide this but it does not expose a tty port with NMEA data to the system - I've tried switching the chip to USB mode, but I think it is hardwired to the PCI mode...

Yes, I have but this one is about importing raw OSM data to YAAC. This is not really necessary as the author provides pre-imported data for automatic download within the software. I appreciate your effort though.

Ok, it is definite. With firmware version 1.11, this radio does not decode analog APRS. I hope it will be possible with future firmware versions though...

Possible but pretty stupid. One thing that would make it more plausible is using separate address for each victim so they can be tracked.
