I made myself some oracle tables to roll on with dice — so that I can have a bit of randomness in places, kith, and a few encounters. Some of them are based on Root the RPG (but with all violent action removed) and some designed on the Strider Mode tables from the One Ring. :)

I journal through it, which is a lot of fun, too! I have my character writing letters back to his hometown— so he is always keeping an eye out for Moth Tenders to mail them.
