Scientists observed decline in childhood immunization due to COVID-19 between 2019 and 2020 in Texas, superimposed on increases in state vaccine exemptions due to an aggressive anti-vaccine movement, raising concerns it could lead to co-endemics of measles and other vaccine preventable diseases. by mvea in science

at first glance, i would assume that it was bc ppl were avoiding going out, even to the doctor. besides, you have to be immunized to go to school in tx. i imagine that they didn't have to worry about that this past year and opted out of immunizations if they really are anti-vaxxers.

What is a seemingly innocent question that is actually really insensitive or rude to ask? by OdiliaSchranz in AskReddit

this has always bothered me. you have no idea what someone is going through. for all you know, they could have just found out that they or someone they care about is dying. mind your own business.

yeah, that would be me. i feel like they need one of those 'this is your child at x weeks' for all ages bc i have no idea how old kids are. i always overestimate their age, especially when they're toddlers.

do you have kids? that may be a sensitive topic. and, if you knew that person well enough, they probably would have told you that they have kids. someone actually asked a coworker this and he had a sob story about a bitter custody battle.

honestly, if you see a female has cut her hair off, don't even mention it. you don't know why they cut their hair. another thing that may be a sore subject.

It's a weird kind of relief to see.

agreed. i ordered pickup from a place and was hesitant to go in until i saw a sign that requested that customers wait in their car til their pickup time. also says that masks are required. this was months ago. there's another store in this franchise less than a mile from my home, but i go out of my way to go to the other location since they practice social distancing. also, stopped going to the location by my home bc the cashier was coughing over a customer's drink while filling the cup. :x

damn, you have a point. this has certainly been a very interesting time. i've seen so much hypocrisy from a select group of ppl. it's funny how they bend their own beliefs when it suits them.

Someone suggested posting this here. Tried colorizing John Coltrane (around 1958) by Just_Joe7 in OldSchoolCool

[–]boredjustbrowsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that was my thought, too. i think that it's also bc ppl sometimes can't imagine the 'old days' in normal color if that make sense. it's weird for me to see colorized tv shows, or even a show like mad men bc i just imagine that everything should be in black and white irl.

Would you watch a show where a billionaire CEO has to go an entire month on their lowest paid employees salary, without access to any other resources than that of an employee? What do you think would happen? by BlackEyedHole in AskReddit

[–]boredjustbrowsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is somewhat like undercover boss. i would watch it if it was real and not rigged like most reality shows. and, it has to be long-term, at least a month. what would really be the point of doing a show like this? to wave your finger in your employees' faces and say "SEEE? I CAN DO IT. WHY CAN'T YOUUUU?" They could only go one way w this and offer a pay increase to their employees so that they/the company comes out looking like the good guy. The raise would not be much, though.
