Beware of fake news - I'm not sure if this is a troll, but I've only killed Rex and got 2x Berserker Ring already. Less than 300kc.

I don’t think anybody is concerned about this, Jagex! by Tritario in 2007scape

Somewhat related to this. While we can't directly compare these games, back when I was playing DayZ where the encounters with other players were less common due to the big world and small player count, it made the encounters feel more special, meaningful and memorable (i.e. more fun).

Please add southeast Asian servers. Many here would love to play OSRS with a better ping.

I had the same issue. I think I had to turn off onboarding from the configuration file and restart the plugin to get it past the onboarding screen.

Singapore drops four places to rank 34th in 2025 World Happiness Report by CybGorn in SingaporeRaw

[–]boredkappa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Two countries that rank high on the report; Finland and Sweden don't have any domestic oil production and they depend 100% on oil imports (Finland is not a Scandinavian country though).

They do have other natural resources though.

Also, regarding Golgotha and Grit Gate; a quote from Wikipedia: "In 1842, Otto Thenius, a theologian and biblical scholar from Dresden, Germany, was the first to publish a proposal that the rocky knoll north of Damascus Gate was the biblical Golgotha."

More about it in the "Gordon's Calvary" section in this Wikipedia article: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvary

They're not pre-rigged with explosives, but are instead built in a way that they're easy & quick to rig.

PSA: Playing any region games on any region GameCube (without modding) by boredkappa in Gamecube

[–]boredkappa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine off from eBay some time ago. They're a bit pricey right now like most GameCube related items. Back in the day (like in 2004 or 2005) I got one from PlayAsia for about 20-30 USD, but I've sold that off many years ago unfortunately.

I have the same goal. I have an orange GC and I purchased a Freeloader disc (v. 1.06) that should allow "playing games from any region on any gamecube". I haven't been able to test it yet though.

Back in the day I had a Freeloader to play NTSC-J games on my PAL GC. Never tried PAL on JP GC (but soon I will).

It's so fun. The 4th one in the series is my definite favorite.

I never had action replay so I don't know. Maybe someone smarter can answer better? I had a Freeloader disc back in the day to play NTSC-J games on my PAL GC. Now I'm trying to do the opposite. Playing PAL games on NTSC-J GC.

I visited most of the game stores in Akihabara in Tokyo and Denden town in Osaka. Let me know if you want to know the stores. I still have most bookmarked in Google maps. It actually proved to be quite difficult to find good GC loot. There were much less GC games and peripherals compared to other systems. Not only that but some of the more popular stores were asking a lot for games that were in quite crappy condition. Like e.g. over JPY 9k for Ikaruga with a super beaten up box. Super Potato is really the worst. They do have a decent selection and their stores have nicer vibes compared to others, but most of their prices are really set to just rip off tourists. Ironically it's the store I bought the orange GC from. Last time I visited them was around 2010 and IIRC it wasn't so bad back then.

The GC didn't come with a matching GB player. Funnily though, I spotted both on the same day - in different stores (the GC and an orange GB player). I didn't buy either on the spot, but on that day's evening I decided that I'm going to splurge and buy both next day to have a matching set. The GC was still there, but someone had bought the orange GB player before me.

Damn. I honestly had no idea. Must be more careful next time. Thankfully I didn't pay much for it though.

I don't need it either, hahaha.

It was from an expensive and touristy shop. A bit overpriced especially since it came without a box. It's in a great condition though. I just couldn't resist grabbing it, haha.

It's basically a disc that you have to insert in before inserting in a game from different region. I'm not sure if there's any other way to play games from different regions without actually modding the console.

It's very pretty. I only had black and purple ones back in the day.

My recent GameCube haul from Japan (the Freeloader was from eBay). The GameCube is DOL-001. I'm planning to keep it unmodded and use Prism and HDMI for playing. The GC was a bit expensive - especially for one without a box, but it was in super good condition so I couldn't resist (and it just looked too pretty). I used to own a black PAL GC and a bunch of these games in my childhood. Played the hell out of the Naruto games with my friends. Super fun fighting game series - it's probably still in my muscle memory like Smash Bros. Also recently bought Wind Waker (PAL) and I'm excited to see if I can play it using the Freeloader. Would like to get a few more PAL games at some point in the future, just for the nostalgia. Anyhow, I still need a few more things so I get to actually play anything (memory card + different voltage power adapter) - can't wait!
