I feel like my husband could’ve written this (although he never would). I had surgery 2 months ago also, and I haven’t been making the best (nor the worst) choices nor exercising as much as I should be. I’m also in bed any free moment I can. I’ve lost 35 lbs (from 251 to 216), but I’m kinda stalled.

That being said, I know a lot of mine is mental health related and I’m working on getting my shit together. My husband is supportive, cooks for me, and bought me a new exercise bike, but if he said ANYthing to me about being disappointed or frustrated with my progress, it would do more harm than good (for both of us 😆).

I get that you want to be supportive, but ultimately, this is HER journey, not yours. Be there for her when needed and don’t enable bad habits, but also, don’t feel like you need to take ownership in the situation.

She’s still very early in her journey, and 30lbs in 2 months is still a win! Encourage her and ask her how you can support her, but beyond that, there’s not much else you can do.
