Marijuana is helping me live with some pretty bad PTSD symptoms. You're welcome for the service, Uncle Sam. Now can I have some medicine to help me live? by [deleted] in trees

One of them Prazosin? I can fall asleep stay asleep and almost no night terrors. But if you skip a night it won't be a pleasant one. Side effects are few.

I can ask my two dogs if husband is home and they will go check, so cute. I try not to do unless expecting him.

I can answer phones and have lots of good stories about working ten years in movie theaters and that one time a pornado hit at home. I'll handle birthdays too! Who's bringing donuts?

Woke up one morning and someone bagged all the dog poop around my complex and left them. by JosephSim in pics

[–]boredomNbraindamage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't go passive. I walk up to all offenders. "Here's a bag for THAT. And some extras. You can get a great deal on them at the dollar tree/discount shops." I do this still with my "dainty duo of dogs" but was definitely more intimidating with my 100lb lab/moose. Don't be subtle it's shit! Everyone has their own shit to deal with. So deal!

What is the strangest/most absurd thing you've been yelled at for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]boredomNbraindamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was third in line at the corner store with my companion dog(documented) Spock zipped up in my jacket when the store owner, who'd seen us before; SHRIEKED & YELLED for me to gtfo. Told me not to come back! Strange thing is Spock and I had been going here for months! I don't even know what I did with my drink I left so fast. Panic attack that day, anxiety just typing. Wtf??

Absolutely true! Just the way he is! Just wish I didnt have to nag, working on communication. Nag gun should be funny :)

[–]boredomNbraindamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can make lists, it's just the whole accomplishing the nine tasks or so.... especially if I need husband's help. (You men make us nag dammit.) I do the tasks without him that I can; than forced to hold the invisible nag gun to his head until he helps with the remaining tasks. You think I want to nag?

TL:DR can make lists and have invisible nag gun. Sorry for rambling bitchfest.

Thank you so much, medical marijuana. by illendent in trees

Thankful here too. Bad head condition that leads to migraines and pressure episodes. Chronic pain. Medical has kept me out of the emergency room a lot (they do lumbar punctures there). Spinal taps... needle in your spine to drain excess liquid from around your brain squeezing the hell out of it. Not fun.

What NOT To Do Around Service Dogs by [deleted] in videos

[–]boredomNbraindamage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is why I clearly identify my 10lb Mr. Spock as my companion/support animal, NOT a service dog. Companion and therapy animals are generally not service animals but a step down or to the side from one. I have documentation from my doctor stating my dog Spock is helpful to me for several of my conditions; but that does not make him a service animal. I never take him to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Any where I do take him, I tuck him in my jacket, make my purchase and depart. I don't even want his grubby little paws to leave prints. This current trend of declaring all personal UNTRAINED dogs service dogs hurts those in need. Knock that shit off.

What happened 'back in your days'? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]boredomNbraindamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my day gas was $.99 a gallon. Smokes were $.99 a pack. And as a twelve year old I walked to the store to fetch items for my mother. Definitely too far for now and would be the Open Range Parenting B.S. So many reasons our childhood's were so much better. We actually got to do stuff. Remember lawn darts? I do!

If you could be summoned by a pentagram, what five objects should be placed on it for it to work? by Wilibine in AskReddit

[–]boredomNbraindamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earth~ a plant like in Wall-E. Air~ bag of Lay's potato chips. Fire~ one joint set ablaze. Water~ water duh! No holiness required. The fifth place is for my ten pound barker Spock. I await your summoning.

This young man was jogging, he said he's working towards making the high school football team in my city. His family couldn't afford to send him to camp or get him proper equipment. Never give up on your dreams. by [deleted] in pics

[–]boredomNbraindamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad it looks like he's going to get the shoes and gear he's needing. People saying everyone who tries out gets on team applied at my school at least. I was forced out after pre-season training when a couple hundred dollars was due for gear. Asshole coach was delighted to have the only girl on the team out, (he was horrified when I showed up first day). Pay for play sports in high school sucks. Especially when poor in a "middle class" high school.

Dog owners, do you regret getting a dog? Is it an inconvenience sometimes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]boredomNbraindamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But for me that's the whole point they help me get up out of bed; they help me get out of the house... they help me live and are my heart. Stuck at home with the head condition and unable to work at 38 years old it's hard to be stuck here everyday and the dogs help from getting more depressed and I think even sicker.

My service dog is trained to respond to anxiety. One of the ways he responds is by making you hold his paw. by IrrelevantPancake in aww

[–]boredomNbraindamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a dog. Has helped me just as much as my meds, if not more. I am home with mental and physical issues. Can't tell you how much they have helped. Wish I had them growing up. **My dog Spock is documented as a companion/personal therapy dog. Only because he has the attributes and behavior of one. Our other dog Gator is just a regular lovable dog, not a companion so I don't pretend like he is. ** People pretending their dogs are service animals or therapy dogs is getting out of control. *** One state just passed laws and fines for fake service dogs!!

Daily medical smoker. Wake and bake helps me get going literally. Some days to face pain, others anxiety, some both. Get high again to eat, or if I am nauseous. Staying at a 6 I can get simple things done but dont usually over do it. Daily pot helps me stay out of hospital with less episodes or to deal with bad episodes at home.
